Metzler Rennsports

Just purchased a pair of Rennsports off the 'bay for the zx6. Read a few reviews and they sound pretty promising.

I think Metzler is a sub-company of Pirelli, is that right?


Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience of them, anyone ridden on these in anger? Road or Track.

I think they are basically Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas. They are all made in the same factory in Germany anyway.

Suppose that means there wont be a massive difference between the two, bar the pricetag.

Not fast enough to warrant needing a perfect tyre yet anyway. As long as they stick like a bitch I'll be happy

One of my mates uses part worn rennsports,yes they are very sticky,just a pity i can't fit them on mine,

Ah well, we'll see. Gone for the 120/70 (I know it fits) and 180/55 (have heard it fits my bike fine) so other than that, bring on the 21st.


No doubt you're running faster than this now Ham, but did you say it was around 1:45's average at Rock?

I know I pulled a 1:54 out last time, but that was first trackday. Should be able to significantly improve this time.

Good stuff. I got the Rennsports for £130 for the pair, new, so not a horribly large amount.

It was a choice between those or some Dunlop D208s (currently have them on) for same price.

I just fancied a change I think, I'll see what theyre like. If the Racetecs are based on the Rennsports, I'm hoping they'll be pretty decent.

Yeh,limited choice really,running BT014's at the moment but i tend to blue them up so they are getting too hot.If i do some trackdays this year i'm gonna need better tyres or a 17 inch wheel upgrade.

I've got them on my R6.
They are brilliant when warm and in the dry.

Not so good in the wet but they do still get pretty warm.
My back is starting to square off ever so slightly after 500 miles or so, but they are scrubs that came on it (used to be a trackbike). But I commute to work/college 6 miles 4 times a day.

Would definatly have another set especially how cheap they are.

Can get race scrubs off ebay. Sure I paid about £90 for a set + £15 fitting.

Ask around on motoforum next time, should be able to get them for a lot less than that, I reckon.

i had them on my supermoto found them great in the dry and really really bad in the wet ater there about half worn also they didnt last long
