Anything to avoiud using Paraffin on?

Hi,

Recently been using Paraffin to help degrease the bike and was wondering if there is anything I should keep it away from?

Id try to keep it away from bearing so you dont flush out the grease and you fairing and any painted finishes incase it fades or dulls them

yeah i would say any bearings, e.g. wheel bearings and such like. probably try and keeb it off the forks and shock, and your chain, i would imagine it may damage it depending on what chain you have. anything that needs regular lubrication because the paraffin will thin down the lubricant.

Paraffin is perfect for cleaning chains. Most chain manufacturers recommend it.

paraffin i think you'll find is an extremely thin oil (a bit like diesel) i've wiped paintwork and everything down with it in the past ...

also used it to wash engine components when rebuilding

Keep it away from anything that has rubber or soft plastic/polyurethane in it, tyres, seat, O or X ring chains. in fact, dump it and get some proper cleaner Auto-Glym degreaser is a good one and, if used right, lasts ages.
