It will be fine, several occasions spent minutes at a time bounceing off the redline on the cg, proveded you keep the oil changes up 4stroke 125s gnerally with take allot of stick as them being thrashed daily is not optional its a requirement...
if you wan't to accelerate faster learn to change gears without the clutch... ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

what does it feel like going that quick? the most ive done is 70 on a steep down hill with the wind behind me..and that seemed VERY fast for me....
I feel like at that speed i have little/no control other than slowing down.. |
200mph (or near as damn it) is very, very quick and can only be done in the safety of a closed runway
consider, from a standing start to the chequer boards takes about 30 seconds and is a mile and a half - you can't even see the end of the course from the start it's so far away
I can't really tell you what it feels like as I cannot see very much or hear very much, it's surprisingly quiet in the bubble, head down looking at the rev counter relying on peripheral vision to make sure that you are still in the centre of the lane, adjusting for cross winds, watching for the timing boards etc.
when you shut off, sit up and squeeze the brakes and peel off into the return track you cannot see the timing boards you have just passed - this takes about 10 seconds before you run out of braking area, less at Elvington
it seems to take forever to get back to the timing boards
do not ever believe anyone who tells you that they have done this on the roads or that it is easy - even some of the turbos were only just making it and none of the Nitrous boys went faster than me
I got the 195.whatever only once and this was a run where every gear change was timed to perfection, my body position was perfect and every little appendage was well tucked in
oh yeah, all the while this is going on your rear wheel is spinning in a slow burnout too - my rev counter/speedo calculated speed should have been 207mph - so I was getting between 10-15mph of constant wheelspin
Kickstart has described the state of the BigCC bike rear tyre, obviously this is accentuated by the long swingarm but you have to imagine that the force of the air is like pushing against a wall, the tyre is bound to spin
mine looks like I have been doing slow burnouts all day
it's a rush for sure
totally different to roundy roundy track days (which I have also done lots of) but definitely something everybody should experience once in their life
riding a big bike flat out that is, not necessarily 200mph
one of the guys videod a 170mph run (he was sitting up to accomodate the camera)
I'll see if I can find the link ____________________ 187.3bhp = 201mph |

If I'm out for a blast and there's a straight clear bit of road ahead. I always ride to the redline. In the first two gears I can feel the front wheel getting very light. But it never comes off the ground. Should I be able to get a wheelie on a 400 just off the throttle?
Also, does anyone find it completely different driving a car and revving it up to the redline? Doesn't sound or feel healthy in whatever cars I've tried it in. My mate is too scared to take his car past the 5krpm in his car when the redline is 7krpm. I'm assuming it's fine for cars to do this without breaking something? ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing |

I've, accidently, changed gear without the clutch, won't this be bad for the bike?

clutch ?
never use it for upshifts on the track, it loses speed and overheats the clutch
often use it for gentle shortshifts on the road but not for spirited riding
modern transmissions don't need it
also, quite often bounce my car off the limiter - but is a 2.0 Turbo Diesel ____________________ 187.3bhp = 201mph |

I normally change up at 12,000 on my RS. Upshifts without a clutch is ok, I can do downshifts without the clutch but try not to do it to often.
Same with a car, the redline is to be aimed for. The limiter is what you want to avoid. |

borrowed a SV650 when the bandit was in for a service...soon found the limiter on it, most depressing...
The CB box was very very clunky when I got it but after a week or so of doing clutchless changes in and amongst its loosened up....doing them on a bandit/old gixxer engine does the box no end of good, makes it really smooth
