Tyre pressures

Did a search but didn't find anything really specific or helpfull.

What tyre pressures do you run on the front/rear for road riding and for what bike?

Just wondering what pressure I should set the SV tyres to so I get the most out of them.

This place says:

36psi front
40psi rear.

However, I'd still look around and see if your tyre manufacturer reccommends anything.

36/42 for my 03 ZX6R, generally the same for most 600's.

Obviously different people prefer slightly pressures but 36/42 is the recommended spec.

If you can't remember, any bike 35ish will do front and rear.

It does make a difference to handling getting them just right,
It's not that easy though since owners handbook will say one thing but you might have different tyres on.

If the sticker's worn off your swingarm, I'm pretty sure it's 33/36 on the SV. Can't say for sure as I don't have it here with me.

Generally anything around that is good if you're unsure.

40+ seems like a lot to me.

The SRAD was 36's allround, which I what I go for.

Best bet is to find the manual for the BIKE, ignore what the tyre says, that is simply its operational limits, and can never be the correct pressure for your bike.

TBH, every time I've used the writing on the sidewall it's always been what the owners book says... <shrug>

28psi front and 30psi back is what it says in my nsrs manual , i used the manual pressures instead of the pressures written on the tyres , i just thought honda would know how the bikes ment to handle

NEVER use the pressures on the sidewall as your tyre inflation settings. They are the tested maximum safe inflation pressure for the tyre NOT the working pressure as used on the road. The figures you need are available from the tyre manufacturer and vary with the bike model and tyre model too.

If you use the standard fitment tyre on your bike you can use the pressures on the sticker or in the manual. If not, check out the tyre manufacturer's website for reccomended settings.
