Right, i'm in a road movie kind of mood these past few days. So short of buying a pontiac GTO (donations to the fund gratefully recieved), BCF is all I have.
Hopefully there are some road movie geeks out here.

Arrow Whats your take on the driving off the cliff shit at the end of Thelma and Louise?

Arrow Same question about running into the road block in Vanishing Point?

What does it all mean people?

Not seen Vanishing Point.

The Thelma and Louise thing is kind of dumb, really.
I know its like "the ultimate crazy thing to do" ... but really!

Laughing

I am very fond of road movies.
I like Wild at Heart.
Not seen it for years, but its freakily weird.

Vanishing point, watched it two days ago.
Awesome film...freedom and life all packaged into a Dodge V8.
Yum.
I'd love to tear up some black top like that. Cool Thumbs Up

Shut up.
Nowt wrong with cars in road movies.

What are you, another "I hate all cagers" type biker?
Not a petrolhead, then.

Anyway, Mad Max can be counted as a road movie and that has bikes.

What's wrong with cars? At least there are good films about cars. Have you ever seen Torque? It's utter garbage.

Death Proof is damn good! Don't know if I'd class it as a road movie, as such, but it's good nonetheless.

Road movies are good, but for proper petrol head action there is only one film, the best film ever made.

That film is Le Mans.

If you haven't seen it, you can never be a whole person. If you have seen it and don't fancy Ritter's wife, you must like men.

My god, it is made from pure, concentrated win.

Death Proof is the nads Mr. Green

Loads of car movies aren't necessarily road movies, but still cool.

Does Worlds Fastest Indian count as a road movie?
Cos I like that, and its bike related (just for Blackpig Mr. Green)
(actually prolly it doesn't but it has that sort of "things going on and guy just going along with the flow" feeling, but then that's prolly just the way Burt Munro was, LOL)

WHAT!!! Shocked it is the holy grail of all road movies, what with duelling wheelies and such!!
Shocked

Mr. Green

Yeah ... I agree total tosh..

I really don't mind road movies at all.. I haven't seen death proof yet but I have just watched death race (Jason Statham) and enjoyed it. Some corny bits but hey, what do you expect from mental chewing gum.

@HK I agree.. loved that film..

...and I don't hate cars.. Just motorists!

Goose.
If you like road movies you should get hold of a copy of The Gumball Rally.

Its before the crappy Cannonball Run movies and is far far far superior.

It has the singular distinction of being the only Hollywood movie (possibly ever) to use genuine car engine sounds from each individual car in the movie. So a Ferrari Daytona sounds like a Ferrari Daytona and a AC Cobra sounds like an AC Cobra. Cool

Never seen vanishing point and I didn't like Thelma and Louise.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I .... er......

*cap in hand - Fiddles nervously with hat, whilst gazing at the floor*

Thought Easy Rider was complete bollox as well.

I have yet to find a serious drama type movie that has bikes as a central and pulls it off.

anyone ever seen The Girl on a Motorcycle ? A 60's film I think. Heard it's a bit so-so, just wondering if it's worth a watch or not?
