 |
|
Heya
i am trying to sell my 1993 Honda CD250.. i have an ad in the for sale section, also advertised on biketrader and on gumtree
Where else are good places to advertise a bike of this age, and is £900 a decent price for a bike of this age and condition (pretty damn good if i may say so myself)?
I would like it sold within the next 2 weeks as i have 3 weeks off uni then to find a new bike (hornet 600)
thanks guys!

Classic Bike Guide and Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, amongst a few other magazines from the same publisher all offer free ads in their mags. They're really good ads sections, too. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |

really?? Damn.
Would the quickest way to get it sold be to just lower the price to say £700 and hope?
thats annoying.. doesnt quality have any value anymore!? ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

i paid £920 for it back last August.. it was A LOT cleaner then. been dry stored for like 5 years.
ive done 4000 miles since then.. no major problems at all. new tyres and a lot of chain cleaning/lubing, aswell as engine oil replacement when i first got it.
to be honest its still in great mechanical and physical condition though.. just a year older and a bit dirtier in the corners.
i wouldnt really like it go for less than £700 really... i just want to be hopeful. im 20 in april and this is going towards insurance on a hornet. ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

If you want to sell it fast then sticking it on ebay is the most obvious way, as its timed and got quite a large market.
But i would not expect to get a high price, unless you get a couple of people who really want the bike.
Looking for a certain bike myself and some of the prices people are asking for, for 1990's bikes is just plain silly. Seeing some that are starting at £1000 for 1992 bike, Ok they got mileage sub 10K.. But its just taking the micky. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

hmm im starting to think i should cut my losses then..
ill see how it goes for a week at £800, and then bring price down if no calls.
its now on autotrader, pistonheads, here, and gumtree.
i see what you are all saying, MOT could be worth doing (i think if someone calls and asks i'll offer to do it early for peace of mind)
if not, ebay it is!! lol ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

Its wayy over valued , my NTV was a nice bike went for £230 in the end and some of that was delivery costs refunded to me too. Almost everything on that bike was replaced and fixed in effect it was a new bike in an old frame. I had trouble getting rid of it at £400 and dropped the price over and over till people wanted it.
That said the NTV was damaged and has grown (like a rash) on the new owner.
That said some places to sell it are:
Gumtree (and ALL surrounding areas not just your local one)
Sun free ads (this is how I sold the Africa)
Preloved (also got some interest in the Africa)
Just sticking for sale signs up at bike shops etc.
But as said way over valued. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will. In the end, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching. |

just sold it for £650
guy phoned me up at 9.30 this morning, said can he come over at 11.
i was at my fiance's, in bed, and the bike was at home filthy as hell.
i said 'make it at 12', rushed home, got next door neighbour, mum and dad to help me clean it and make it all shiny, guy came over, liked it a lot and has gone for it!
im happy considering the majority opinion lol ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

i know
it was a 75 year old guy looking for a classic style bike, he just getting into biking again but his 1953 norton isnt reliable enough.
we cleaned mine up amazingly, ill get pics soon. he said ideally he would like something older, but i argued that then the mechanical reliability would be in question (something mine is fine with) and the quality of paint/general condition he was happy with.
onto search for new bike! ive hung up my jacket for a while ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |
