Bike vs Car

Anyone had a good race (legal/safe/ ect....) with a fast car?

Being a bike and car fan, i can appreciate the age old debate.

Ever since i started out on my RS125 i had cars wanting to try it. they probably didnt realise my bike was powered with a lawnmower, but that thing stood its ground. I understand the danger and the anti-social affect of rising to the bait but it doesn't mean it don't happen. This got harder on my R1 cos i couldn't tell if the cars were actually trying.

i usually end up racing crappy "hot" hatches. although i have been demolished by fancier more powerful cars such as corvettes and lambo's. but to be fair they pay 100 times more than what i paid for my bike so i think its fair that they should win (also a 130mph top speed doesnt help and only having 65 odd bhp). had a gd race with a porsche and were flying down the road doing silly speeds and both stop at the lights looking at each other, then we notice a 3rd car pulling up beside us and then we realised there was a police van behind us.

for the money you pay for any car you can get a far better performance bike, its only when you get to silly money cars begin to compete with bikes, even then they will have trouble (turbo'd busa's for example).

for me its bikes for performance, cars for practibility.

also off topic but am i the only one that thinks indicator/mirror combo's are fugly?

I dont think i have once had a good race with any car.

Everything around this way is pathetic, and just has a large exhaust / too much plastic to even move from the line.

Ive toyed with lots, but then just got bored and dissapeared off into the horizon.

The only time i come across cars which may give half a good race, i have been miles away from home - and not knowing where cameras / police are going to hide, and normally half way through a LONG trip to get somewhere, i never normally bother "racing" them.

The thing is, on the road, the majority of fast cars would struggle to even compete with a bike. I have yet to find anyone who owns a car that would make my bike have to think about working.

had a good one against a skyline driven by Sideways Si the drift dude. Coming back from the manchester races.

i had a dirty great big bag on my back though an it was super windy so couldn't hold on after 145+

also nearly got hit by a BM that night once we had slowed dowen pulled infront of me and jammed on his breaks like a twat for no apparent reason.

co-incidently i am off to a car/bike meet tonight pontycruise?? or something like that, owe my mate some money for some speakers.

In my old twin turbo supra I had a great race with an R1 round part of the M25. Very little in it. I was quicker top end 140+ and he was ever so slightly quicker from 50+

Not really raced anything on my bike to be honest. Had a go with an M3 a few years back. It was quick, but not quick enough.

Had a blat with an AMG C63 today, tore him a new asshole TWICE.
First time he came whoring up my chuff so i made a gap, not content with that he came back at me again but this time he tried to undertake me so i applied some power so he was only going to come level with me, i knocked it into 3rd gear, looked across and gave him a wave and then engaged warp drive.

I did the exact same with some young d00d in his sup'd up MR2 last week.

A few weeks back 2 cars were up for some fun, An Audi RS4 and a Porsche 996twin turbo, unfortunatly the roads were too busy and i'm not into the whole weaving in an out of 3 lanes of rush hour traffic, by the time the roads cleared they were leaving the motorway. I could have had them easy but it would have been interesting at high speed.

That sort of thing is pretty rare for me, like the OP most of the time i can't tell if someone is trying.

Had a few rudeboys in a Saxo or something (so much plywood on it couldn't tell what it was any more) rev aggressively at the lights, just pretended I had my earplugs in and couldn't hear them. Could've won, but what's the point?

when me and a couple of m8s were out for a rideout yesterday some moron in an RS6 was clinging to my arse even whilst we were overtaking cars. seeing him in my mirrors i slowed down (im not an idiot) and wasnt 100% sure it wasnt plod, he overtook me, overtook my m8 in front of me, over took another car and hacked it after my other m8 who was ahead of the pack.

personally i just let em get on with it, same in the car (i drive a sporty car) and whenever someone tries it on i just let them get on with it. its not worth it on the roads and only puts everyone at risk.

you know you can out accelerate anything up to the high priced exotica so i see little point in 'proving it' (my m8 in front was a different story though, nutter he said if he'd have known it was an RS6 instead of just some lunatic in an estate he'd have gone after him. total nutbar)

Had quite a few races but the only thing to beat me so far was an M3 (I'm only on a 250 with claimed 40bhp). He was slightly edging away from me up to 80 when we had to slow down. He was not much quicker though but I imagine after 80 he would leave me.

I had a bit of a scrap with a basic Porsche boxter on my 1986 TZR250. I beat him to 100 and he had a face like a slapped arse!

Well I get routinely overtaken by about 50 cars on the way to college every day, but then filter past them and beat them to the car park (which they're not allowed to park in, bikes only ) does that count as winning a race?

I love riding my ped, but feel like a complete c*nt holding so many people up everyday. Roll on July + a real bike

Closest was on my current bike coming back from Essex along the A13, It was i believe a Mitsubishi Evo FQ something, very very rapid car, i had just got my new leathers from essex and to give you an idea i quickly glanced and saw 150 then glanced in the mirror and he was only a few car lengths behind, very impressive. He couldent pass me and i couldent shake him, At one point i had moved over to follow him and he dabbed the brakes and put his hand out the window to warn me of an upcoming speed camera gave each other the thumbs up when he got off at docklands, quickest i have ever got into london from essex i tell ya

I have found the more powerful your bike looks the less likely car drivers try it on...

I guess they reckon they have a chance against a naked 500/600...

I had a decent race with a megane sport the other day, it was some blonde lass but she could shift, must have gone about 5miles, along both dual carriageway and country roads luckily she didnt push the car as im restricted. in the country lanes i lost her though, she didnt seem to confident taking blind corners quickly...
