So let's get this straight. Something might happen in four years time, if countries choose to implement it.

But then again, we don't actually know what this CVIS actually is designed for yet.

Sometimes I despair of the sensationalist propoganda which is spread here.

You should work for the tabloid press, you'd fit right in.

Yes lucky this is the first we have heard of this concept and there is no pay per mile scheme research of yet..theres not 100"s of millions being spent on such a thing with the intention of slapping them on every car in the EU because no ones working towards making all countries making up the EU governed by one body with out choice.

How do we do this just focus on the story at hand?il give that a go man Very Happy

Disagree, you'd rather not hear about anything until the day it all comes into action then because before then it's not 100% guaranteed?

While passing rumours and proposals, which often will never amount to anything, off as gospel is pointless, this hasn't done that, it's just cited a new article which you yourself highlight states that it's something that is being looked at, nothing more.

Lots of stories start out this way and end up being reality, ID cards, mobile/email communications logging and travel logging being a few that come to mind.

Simply earthing the car would probably be just as effective. Trail a piece of chain onto the road like they do with fire engines.

The car bodywork acts like a faraday cage anyway.

I don't mind at all having things brought to my attention - but let's have the facts please, not a twisted hyped up version.

The title says:

"Lets track ALL vehicles everywhere says EU."

Which is much more inflammatory than a more accurate title of, say:

"EU to examine postulated proposal for possible non compulsory vehicle 'tracking' system."

I don't like opinion with my facts, since I am more than capable of forming my own, I just want the facts.

If the transmitter operates in the 5GHz range, he wont need lead, just some tinfoil from one of my hats will do nicely.

Damofo D.O.G. why is it people know that to read a book you have to read between the lines but when it comes to the media this does not apply Laughing.

Of course jumping to conclusions left right and center is pointless but theres been a clear trend forming with this technology and its intended use...the same agenda is being rolled out in america

Also because thousands of litres of water passing through a rubber hose can generate a massive static potential. Enough to spoil your day if it earths through you and not the pump.

Fine "Lets track ALL vehicles everywhere says EU." might be incorrect for the time being but it can be replaced by

"Lets track ALL internet , phone , email activity everywhere says UK government ." ~ law comes into effect Monday.
