Opening the throttle, even the tiniest bit seems to be a bit on/off on the Bandit. Consequently, it can be difficult to get right when trying to trail the throttle through the corners. Just the slightest increase can upset the balance round a corner. If I have to, I use the clutch to smooth it out, but it'd be much better if the progression was a bit smoother than what it currently is.

Is there anything I can do that would make that initial twist a bit more progressive, rather than just: no throttle / lot of throttle ?

Cheers!

Have you checked the routing of your throttle cable for snags or tight bends, and also lubricated it recently?

I don't think there is much you can do. Is it F.I.? If so, you could fit a P.C. I get the same problem on the blade, it's a on/off switch at tiny throttle openings. The power commander made it slightly better but it still does it. I would be interested to hear if anyone has a solution for this, it's been bugging me for ages.

But if your bike is carb'ed, then that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Thanks, ringer, but it's not the movement itself that's a problem, it's that the smallest twist opens her up too much, too brutally, if you see what I mean.

Have you checked the slack in the cable?

To be fair you haven't had the bike long, give yourself a chance to get used to it.

Thanks, Big H. There's little or no slack, so I might try and give it a little more, and see how that affects it, and it's not so much getting used to it, it is just plain difficult and that won't change. I might end up just putting up with it if there's nothing I can do, but I don't think I'll ever get used to it.

my bike did this - replacing the cush drive rubbers solved it - was way too harshly taking up power before, nice and smooth now Smile Thumbs Up
