I thought the FIA had banned the use of those ugly bolt on winglets and crap that aided downforce?! Confused

Well done Jenson! Pole again! Didnt hamilton look miserable? Shame Rubens had a 5 place penalty but if he drives like he did in the last race could we see another Brawn 1-2?

I was finding F1 boring. But I even found the qualifying exciting this morning. Quite extraordinary.

Just look at the post qualifying press conference. Three different teams in the top 3, although Vettel has been demoted 10 places on the grid which is sad.

Massa making a faux pas and being generally quite cocky in thinking that no other teams were gonna give him a run for his money. Tis gonna be a big wake up call for the McLarens and the Ferrari's this season. The McLarens were absolutely mediocre at best.

For some reason I am getting the impression that Hamilton wont be at Mclaren next season.

Seriously though...Why do people bother with F1?

Maybe you should try watching it before jumping on the bandwagon. It isn't a car vs bike issue, if you are any sort of petrolhead you will enjoy F1. It was poor about 5 years ago, things have improved a lot now. The fact I woke up specifically to watch qualifying is testament to myself that it has improved.

How do you know i haven't watched it?
What fucking bandwagon?
I am my own person i can think for myself.
Do not assume things!
I think theres a lot of people getting sucked up in the hyperbole. I am a petrolhead and i don't enjoy F1,can't help it.

it was actually a pertinant question...Why do people watch it?

I have a feeling....

Noone is going to match the pace of the Brawns, and the FIA are not going to want them winning every race, so at the meeting about the rear diffusers next week or so, they will be outlawed to level up the whole field.

Brawn are looking great though, but what about Trulli in the Toyota, goes to show last week wasn't just a fluke for him.

Be interesting to see how Hamilton handles this season with not having the best car on the grid as he has had in the last 2 seasons (along with the Ferrari). He certainly isn't looking at all impressed at the interviews he has given so far.

Only 4% of FIA appeals get overturned. Also is the fact that the diffuser teams already asked the FIA about them last year and were given the all clear. Plus the stewards passed them as well and the FIA very rarely if ever overturn the stewards.
They DO conform to the rules but not the spirit of F1, but that's what F1 is about. The bright ideas gain you an advantage. The appeal is actually more about clarification than having them banned as it's my understanding that most teams have already designed new ones anyway. This will bring the field nearer to the diffuser 3.
The other times just whinging because they didn't think of it first.
P.S. The Brawn would still be quick enough to win even if it didn't have it's current diffuser. It's not worth as much as the other teams make out.

Looking at those weights I'd argue that the kers system is having the biggest difference in lap times. Like 30kg difference. I'm not convinced kers is going to be a great advantage this season.

Its been a lot better the last couple of years, the organizers have made quite a few changes to create better racing Thumbs Up but I agree before that it was dull as.

Maybe the MotoGP organizers should take a leaf out of there book, rather then running the sport into the ground with all there stupid rules to make things safer. Motorsport is supposed to be dangerous thats part of the appeal.
Plenty of people pay lots of there own money to race knowing the risks. If the best riders in the world don't think its worth the risk anymore, then maybe they should move over and let somebody else take there place.

Yeah. Not sure I enjoyed it really. For the first time in a while I was hoping it wouldn't rain as it was looking to become quite a decent race. But ah well. Onwards to the next race.

Bollocks.

F1 is a farce, much more enjoyable car racing to be watched at lower levels, you know, where people overtake and race results are just that instead of being debateable a week later.

Yeah F1 has all the best machinery but that doesn't always make for great racing.

Stop trying to be elitist and have a flick through some of the racing they have on eurosport and other smaller channels, there's much more enjoyable racing out there.

I'm not trying to be elititst i'm merely definding it based upon the racing throughout this season. It isn't the most exciting racing you will find, but this season it has improved a lot and I think a lot of people are immediately dismissing it without giving it another look.

British touring cars ITV4!, the best motor-racing on TV, beats all the bikes too, the racing is sooo close, the support races are the best, they're all battering the hell out of each other its brill Thumbs Up

The touring cars are a bit wang since Vauxhall's the only factory team, but the ballasts and random grids help with lots of overtaking and bumper to bumper racing.
