Fcuk me wave.

You certainly like your V-Twins mate!

Very fuckin nice. Tidy as! Thumbs Up

Let us know how she handles, I'd heard the Sp-1s were a bit of a handfull, but later refined handling as the SP-2...might be a loada bollocks like.

Its a harsh ride, but its to be expected, once ive tuned the suspention to my liking it should be mint.

Its less of a handful than the RSVR, seems more solid but really really crap MPG.

Needs a PCIII, then it should be more road useable.

Yes i love twins, could have got a ZX10R or a GSXR1000, but Inline 4s just bore me, yea i know im weird Razz

The SP1 will hit the Nurburgring in June, hopefully a few trackdays also.

Blimey Wave! You've almost had more bikes than I've had!!

That does look good. At the moment I'm feeling really ambivalent towards shiney sportsbikes, particularly the usual suspects with standard paintjobs.

But that is really really nice. I like the paintjob, I like its shape and I reckon I'd like the noise it makes. Not your usual plastic rocket by a long stretch, and for me that makes it cool. Cool

That is a sportsbike that edges out of the 'uncool' section of the MarJay cool wall! Laughing

Where did you pick the bike up from?

Saw a plain red SP-1 joining the M3 on Wednesday! Not you?

not me in afriad.

there is something nice about riding cheaper bikes, i wouldnt say i ride my expensive bikes any slower, but cheap ones give you much better peace of mind.

Would it make it less cool if i told you the decals are all laqured on carbon effect ones Razz

The one thing annoying me so far, it doesnt sound like it should, although they are Leovince SBK cans, they are road legal with non removable baffles, gash.

So my planned mods shall be:

Loud cans
PCIII
Steering damper (more of a safety item)

How have your twins been for wheelies? In comparison to your gsxr that is.

Id say easier to power wheelie a V-twin, specially the rsv, but more controlled on the gsxr.

That said im no wheelie fanatic either.

Good old tubby SP1 Smile

PCIII helps ALOT, I love mine with a PCIII and a decent map. I was happily pottering along at 30MPH in 3rd and 4th gear through villages yesterday, no jerking or stuttering - It wasnt quite IL4 smooth but 100% better than before. I couldnt even do less than 70MPH in 6th on the motorway else it would jolt all over the place!! Fuel consumption is massively improved too, I can now get anywhere between 110-140miles before reserve depending on the type of ride (Mostly 110miles on a decent twisty road though)

The suspension is tough but it'll make you enjoy the smooth roads even more Smile and getting a decent setup is essential, unlike most bikes, those adjusters do actually make a difference!

Take a tooth off the front sprocket and maybe one on the rear too, they're really over geared as standard. 15/41 is quite common (16/40 is standard)

Are you sure there isn't something you can remove from inside the exhaust?

I had a leo vince can on that was road legal and there was no indication it could be a race can. The end band was held on with 6 allen key bolts instead of rivets which meant I could pop the end cap off and remove a huge mother of a baffle.

Nice Wave, very nice.

I was considering an SP1/2 for my track bike this year as I liked the 916, but wanted more ooomph!!

I ended up going for a ZX10 as it came up for a good price, but I think I'll go for a SP next, plus they come with HRC parts as standard! Thumbs Up

Good choice, I'm getting a PCIII ordered tommorow with the aim of having it fitted by next week along with a long overdue bit of setup time on the suspension.

As for the downgearing, how far has it knocked your speedo out by? I'm tempted but after the Futura and it's KM only clocks I'm still kind of enjoying having an accurate UK readout Smile

My Speedo was 11% out with 1 tooth less on the front. From the factory they're about 6-7% out anyway.

It's been adjusted with a Speedo Healer now.

Got a PCIIIr on the way, hopefully that will help the fuelling a bit.

Had a problem with it yesterday though, took it for an MOT in the wet and it was chugging all the way home, really violently like there wasnt enough fuel going to the cylinders.

Most likely water getting into either the coils/ht caps or related wiring, had this with my YZF coils as the insulation was cracking from old age.
