I think that was a touch out of character for him though - he's usually a lot more dignified than that, but I suppose that with the current media frenzy surrounding the whole thing it makes people do slightly out of character things to try and make a point.

So far to my mind, the best summing up of the whole debacle has to be from Mr. Charlie Brooker on Newswipe, still on the iPlayer for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Basically, it's all our own faults in not so many words...

I just think it's meaningless to say that Jane is scum. Of course she is. The real question is, why have the British public persisted in propelling her into the spotlight.

Because we, too, are feeble minded morons who like trash. At least Jane had a personality - shit, for sure - whereas "Parky" is as exciting as a tumble dryer on economy speed.
