Yes a helicoil would work just fine. I have done a couple. If not, then tapping a size larger and using a larger plug would also work well. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

I generally find that its not the plug that gets damaged, the sump is softer. As a temporary fix you could try a rubber washer to help give a better seal.
