So I was driving my mate back to my place last night, through a pretty scratty housing estate. Three little kids playing on the road up ahead, so I slowed down. They all moved over to the pavement and stopped to watch me go past. The smallest one, say about four years old, chucked a small stick at my car. Faster than I could think, I slammed the anchors on and got out and yelled at her (yes, it was a small girl Embarassed ) and she looked pretty sheepish.

Then, the 'mother' came out of the house opposite wailing like a banshee, effing and blinding at me for yelling at her kid. Quite right too I said, but she was playing in the road and I was yelling at her to scare her and teach her a lesson.

This is where I failed. I did not tell said banshee that small child 'A' had launched a missile at my car.

Anyway, child and mother (now properly crying) now walk away.

So, I feel like poop now. I want to tell the mother the full story so she doesn't think I'm a random twat who needs psyche evaluation. I also don't want the wrath of a tattooed ape looking for my car about the place. So I feel like I should do something, but what....?

Gun down the entire housing estate and then blow your brains out whilst having a stand off with the police.

And leave me as the main beneficiary on your will.

Kidnap the child. This will keep them preoccupied. Bonus points for trying to hide them in outer space via a homemade rocket.

Looking forward to reading the newspapers. Thumbs Up

Do nothing...

If the parent allows a 4 year old to be out playing in the road, without parental supervision, then no matter what you do or say, you will be the bad guy!!!

Best chalk it down to experience.

Your reaction about yelling at the kid, just goes to show that you actually have some compassion, and give a shit about a fellow human life...don't beat yourself up about this. This is a good quality to have, shame the parents of the kid doesn't have the same!

The kid is so young she'll probably forget the whole thing within a few minutes. Not worth losing sleep over. It's amazing how kids can go from being in complete despair to complete joy and happiness within seconds. Confused

Drop kick the child as far as possible, then, whilst the child is airborne, shout "fetch".

Observe. See the pure guilt in the woman's face when she fails to catch the child, and it hits the road like a hessian bag full of raw steak. Everything suddenly goes from your fault to yelling at the kid, for her fault for failing to catch it.

Pop back into your car, lock the doors and wind down the window. As you crawl past her, tell her that if she's not going to listen when you tell her to fetch, she should listen when you tell her to dial 999.

That'll learn her.

Don't worry about it the little bitch will do it to someone else before long, she might think twice about doing it to you again though.I made a 6yr old boy cry last week for throwing an egg at my window, quite rightly(in my opinion) i caught the little b*****d,dragged him back to my house by the scruff of his neck, gave him a bucket of soapy water and made him wash it off, meanwhile his grandad comes down, asks whats going on and after he'd cleaned the window he slapped him round the head, kicked him up the arse and told me it wouldn't happen again, however his dad came down the next day with a couple of mates and jabbed me in the face, not sure if i can call it a result or not?

You done right, needed a good shouting at if the mum lets her kid play on the road and throw stuff at people. Dosnt matter what she threw at you you couldnt see it right for all you know it was a glass bottle. Kids have done this to me on a bike and near had me off it when I see them running with stuff at me.

One was about 3, in a nappy, on the dam road where my mum lives. when I went past on the bike he would run onto the road and throw...I dont think he threw anything just pretended but he was more the objectig he was throwing as I wasnt sure what the nut was going to do. He had a bottle of milk in his mouth. Who lets a toddler run out on main roads like that and I found out he lived a good bit from where I seen him near every day near my mums house. Will be petrol bombs and bricks soon enough. And I hope social services take that kid away for its own safety as the parents dont care about it.
