Since the weather's been so kind to us down here, some of us in the Sahf East have been out riding, making the most of it. Here's a few shots. Can't help but whore my bike out...

Marking from a little launch test against joe's (Torque05) vmax, his span up, mine sent the front up.

What kyle forgot to mention is that he got so excited after the drag race he went to "roll one out" by the bushes.

Mean while i decided to tuck it away and carry on riding

And a couple from beachy head taken a couple of weeks back.

Its true the Winnahs are now a different bunch. Its quite strange how things have changed so quickly with some of the other guys prefering the dirt track...

Would be good to see you again Andy, hows the speed 4 doing? Was rather quick whilst restricted, if i remember correctly, you absolutely pwned my Z.

That's a weird body position. You don't look very comfortable! But hey, if the knee's kissing the deck, it can't be all that bad.

I did notice that myself after looking at the pics, trying to quash the rising boner. Right handers are far better for me than left's, but I noticed my upper body was staying behind the bars so been altering the position to get more of me out of the bike.

The camera by the way is my girlfriends slr, olympus 410 with a standard lens. Is pretty cool and takes way better pics than my regular one. On saying that though, the pics are slightly edited by Joe to bring better focus/perspective on the subject.

I really want to give it a go around the track, would be a laugh just to see how it does. Laughing Once i get some 17 inch wheels smaller pegs and some pilot road 2ct's on it im hoping for some knee down action. Twisted Evil

Its a completely different animal to the Z, the V-Boost is still taking some getting used to as the rear wheel is always spinning up when the powers on, and im not quite used to that coming out of a corner yet. Even though its rather fun.

So far on the road its not been to bad at handling, well at least i havnt gone through a bush yet... still able to have a laugh with Kyle so it cant be too bad but i think as the summer goes on ill see the difference between his sport 6 and a tank in the corners. Have already managed to get the left peg down which was an experiance to say the least. To be honest its just nice to be out riding again in the nice weather!! Thumbs Up

what ever you do get the 17" rear wheel, it transforms the vamx, and getting the zboost kit will help. with the power on all the time it keeps the wheel from spinning when it hits 3krpm

Going to get new wheels and some piolet road 2's, with that though i think the exhausts may hit the deck so i might need to re think them.

Ive also been offered a set of Ohlins rear shocks for £125 so when i can get some funds together ill be getting them. And ofcourse ill have to invest in a stage 7 dyno kit... Should have enough poke then. My dad happens to have one sitting in his shed so i may try and blag it off him for a birthday present or somthing. Wink

The max is a bit scarey, not because its insanely fast, can keep up with kyle on his 05 GSXR in a straight line, just about, but its the way the powers deleiverd.

6.5k RPM and suddenly the Vboost kicks in and scares the excrement out of you. Its unbelieveably good fun. You have to remember untill this year the vmax was basicly the same bike since 1985...

Could however do a couple of mods and then you would have a rather pokey little machine compared to quite a lot of things on the road. (In a straight line ofcourse)

Handling wise i find it fine, its only a bit more sat up than my old Z750 and i actually quite enjoy it being so heavy because its taught me to countersteer like never before. It does like to shake its head alot, and i mean alot, although some 17" wheels with good tyre will sort that, it wobbles mid corner on sweeping ones and wollows on tight corners... but i find it really fun to ride, its a massivly entertaining bike and will always let you know if you push it too far itll bite back. Twisted Evil

I would ask h00dwink to say how it looks when im riding through the corners but hes usually quite a way back. Wink

As far as how the vmax handles, with joe as the pilot he gets it round corners better than you'd expect.
I had a little try just taking it to the top of the road and was shocked at how heav it felt and how hard the steering was. This was slow speed mind, and it would probably be better as you get faster. But it's not the sort of bike I personally would want to go fast on around corner.

The other week we had a relatively large rideout where a guy who is relatively quick on a k8 750 asked joe how he'd be able to keep up. Needless to say joe's riding answered better than he could.

Dont think we don't miss riding with you guys who've converted, or just disbanded too.
It's very different now trying to organise a ride than it was before. Where then there was a lot of bargaining with where we'd meet, now it's quite difficult when you have an overwhelming majority coming from the northern south east.

They were some great rideouts though. I dont really ride that fast anymore which is a shame as some of the roads in the SW are really nice.
