The click is most likely the starter relay. If its been sat for so long the battery will be flat, worst case scenario it will never come back. Takes a good bit of power to run the starter motor. A new or charged battery is your first step ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |

If its just a race can and the bike was running fine beforehand then it should be ok. It may benefit slightly from a set up but not really worth it that much. Get that fuel dumped and see what its like! ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |

Right, I used easy start spray into intakes, the bike kicked over for a brief second then died. So I know the spark plugs are fine, so it must be Fuel problems. The carbs were drained from the allen screws on each one, the right hand 2 had fuel in them the other 2 did not ? I assume the fuels bad and clogged it up, or the fuels not getting to all intakes in the carb?
I must have had bad fuel still left in the tank, as after I drained it, then tried fireing it up, it was almost wanting to kick over.
So my plan of attack is to drain the carbs again, take tank off completley and drain fully. then replace the fuel lines which I have sitting around the garage.
If that fails then i should strip carb down and clean. ( which is the last thing I want to have to do, with limited skills in mechanics) ____________________ FZR 1000 RU, FZR 750, Honda VTR Firestorm 1000, Kawasaki Ninja zxr6 |

Sounds like you're making progress mate! I wouldnt want to strip the carbs myself either to be honest as Im not THAT technically minded either. Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on! ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |

Right carbs stripped and cleaned, there was a good portion of shit in them, I also happened to find a clear little bottle with a thin cylindrical filter inside that was gunked up completley it was dry and it came from the carbs, would that have been the cause ? its cleaned and put back on, also there was another bigger bottle with half red stuff ( maybe the redex I placed in the fuel), half fuel in it which was yellow and obviously off whats is it ? it sat back from the battery. Also there was like a tiny bottle with a blanked end on the airbox filter ?
Hoses replaced and in the right order, tank was drained carbs are clean, I will nip to the petrol staton and bash a couple litres into it and hopefully it will be running by end of night.
Could tha tiny little bottle with the thin cyclindrical filter in it that was dry be the cause ?
Or would it be the larger bottle with which looked like half anf half fluid in it ?
What I think it maybe the larger bottle, as the fuel on the half that fed from tank to bottle then to reserve switch and such was red coloured which would be the redex I placed in the fuel. Yet the half that went from below the bottle to switch/carbs was yellow rancid colour, could it be blocked and not allowing fuel to pass through it ? hence why the rotten fuel was sitting below the blockage? am I making sense? ____________________ FZR 1000 RU, FZR 750, Honda VTR Firestorm 1000, Kawasaki Ninja zxr6 |
