I will start filtering as soon as where I live has enough cars.

Hang on a tractor just went passed, I'm going to ride next to him at 20mph for 5 miles to see what it feels like down Sarf.

I love going to London and upseting the locals by standing on the wrong side of escalators. Life is far too much fun in the West Mids to spoil it by rushing.

Laughing

Crazy escalator rules, them there southerners are so silly.

I know what 'pup means though, I used to filter at a speed where nobody ever caught me in the midlands, then wave came to visit and I couldn't match his pace in M6 traffic.

This means that southerners are dangerous bastards.

Have we ever claimed otherwise?
Anyway: you think southern bike riders are dangerous, take a look at our pedbois: they're positively feral. I've seen kids riding Peugeot speedfights try to take on couriers in dense traffic on the Whitechapel Road. That was an eye opener.

What an amazing coincidence. It was the M40, M42, M54 (?) and the M6 where I discovered Midlanders can't filter.

Lets see, sitting in traffic pretending you are a car, sitting between lanes yet not filtering blocking other bikes.

Basically, you can't filter. Please learn.

Adding to this, can Welsh people and South Westerners/West Midlanders please learn how to hold a constant throttle around corners.

Being a country boy, I'm rubbish at filtering. However, if I see a bike behind me the first thing I will do is move over and let them go.

Funny that, my riding on motorways/carriageways has completely changed since moving down South from Scotland. I'm confident taking the '4th' lane but not entirely comfortable doing it i.e I find it being quite cheeky. That feeling will no doubt fade with time though.

Why would I need to filter?

Needing to filter implies there is someone that isn't behind me. This is unheard of!

Laughing Just kidding. I don't filter all the time, only in places i'm comfortable with. I won't hold up other riders though, if i am, i usually move over and wave them past. I'd rather they were in front where i can see them, than have to be watching my mirrors every 2 seconds to see if they're going to try and squeeze past.

I love filtering (and Im a Midlander) only thing I hate is dopey padestrians stepping in front of you without looking cos the rest of the traffic is in a jam, bloody ipods dont help either.
