You sure he has the line, even though he says he has at the end of the op, but earlier he says
| Quote: | the car to my right collides into me as he trys to follow the normal line, |
So apparently, they both were on the racing line.
I am assuming that the car originally in the lead had the line, and the other was trying to make it up the inside, but had only got alongside, therefore the car not on the line should have backed out of it and let the car on line (who was already in lead) take the line.....
Bit like Vettle and Kubica in Australia. (though the quicker car took the racing line)
Kubica had the line, Vettel didn't back out on the inside, and they crashed, resulting in Vettel (the car on inside and not on the racing line) getting a penalty.

I had the line and was on it, Pablo was alongside me and didn't back off as we reached the apex together. My argument is that he should be the one to back off as
a) I had the line.
b) I'd been in front.
c) Pablo had better situational awareness than me (he knew where I was, I had no clue where he was).
Regardless of the line, I maintain that the person behind has responsibility for avoiding the person in front (pretty much per normal road rules), even if he has drawn alongside. The person in front cannot know where the person who was behind is, whereas the person who was behind knows exactly where the person in front is AND should know where he's likely to go.
We both got wrecked, then spent the next 30 minutes shouting ourselves hoarse over skype.
Problem is, Pablo is a master of PC and console racing-games, but has no real-world experience of breakneck road-craft or track useage. He therefore loses any argument by default. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

I am blue.Behind Hetzer as we approach the hairpin corner. I swing out wide and faster exiting the first corner to bring me level. We both approach the fast lefthander side by side..... Collision occurs as Hetzer continues to squeeze to the apex whilst I am on the inside. ____________________ Keeping The Nation Pissed

That looks more like the noober ring to me with the hair-pin going downhill going uphill into a turn.
Is a bloody good game, shame you have it on pc and not xbox, id give you both a wooping if it was on xbox
Id say who ever got to the corner first was in the right, i mean on that game hit the hand-brake and slide it around dont need to worry about the racing line, u can go just as fast sliding the rear in and ramming on power going out.
Ive tryed and tested this method going round it properly and round sliding, both the same, so just get there first, if someone is in your way, BREAK THERE CAR!
All is fair in love and war (or on track in this situation) |

You can't drift all the cars. The cars go from total drifters to Le Mans types that stick to the track like glue, and loads of other cars in between. If you try drifting the Lola (for one example) you'll get nowhere.
It's possible the console versions are more arcadey than the PC version though.
The track we were on was Spa Francorchamps. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

I'd say pablo's in the right, he can't go any more left or he'd be on the grass, so Hetzer'd have to give way.
Bit like how here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNsL3_QRaFQ everyone reckons Schumacher's wrong (although it's a bit different as Schumacher went off a bit first). ____________________ 1999 GSX-R 600, 1999 TL1000R |

When racing the person behind is resposible for the person infront.
However its quite fair to make a block pass if you can get part of your vehicle in their view.
I made lots of overtakes by "showing" my front wheel along side another rider, then cuting them off as as we turned into the corner.
Obviously if they havent seen you you will crash, so you have to make sure your close enough.
But in nearly every case the outside person would let the guy on the inside go through. (Obviously with long brakeing points this can change as the guy on the outside could breake later and still take the place).
As I said theres no right or wrong, just who's braver. How that works in a game I dont know?
I guess you can lose the place or get caught up in an accident, thats the choice.
I was racing rFactor at the weekend and caused a crash in a similar incident (I had inside line, outside guy turned in on me). The race stewards put it down as a racing incident and I didnt get a penalty.
