Circular saw --> face.
Very good idea, thing is most Paramedics tend to be quite skilled at helmet removal, and as long as it isn't far too small for you they are easily removed if someone/something holds your neck still.
Could give you the few critical seconds though? ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

I think the biggest worry would be rider comming round and moving due to the cutter being close to face and having no idea what was going on.
Which would defeat the whole idea.
As the above post, as properly trained crew should be able to act as fast, in removing the helmet, as the guy with the cutter. Who then still has the problem of keeping the neck/head in place. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

Hmm, I see what you mean Nixon, we covered helmet removal in my first aid course, seems less chance of a major fuck up this way, and since you're cutting out the whole chin bar you can still do the chin lift stuff. However I can see what you mean. ____________________ My Flickr |

Arai had already developed a removal system that requires no cutting:

Thats okay, but I can imagine it's not fitted to every helmet (maybe only high end ones) and do paramedics know how to do this process safely? ____________________ We are the Patriots! Love your country. |
