depends on what you consider to be high?
my Carlton's 3.0L straight six redlined out at 7500rpm but would make 8000 if you were feeling brutal..
The German Thundersaloon touring car engine that was based on it was a nearly 4Litre straight six that went to ~9000rpm
it's all a matter of scale, my rangerover's diesel engine would, given time, rev out at a heady 2700rpm, which may not seem much on paper but with 3.8litres of cast iron thrashing around under the bonnet sounded like a train crash ____________________ Well, I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it. - Elwood P. Why the need for high revs? Get a lazy V8.
My BMW produces more torque at 2000RPM than the honda VTEC's do at peak torque and is also producing more power at 3000RPM.
There's no replacement for displacement. ____________________ If you dont like the way that I ride.......Stop trying to keep up!!! |
