Ooh, that's a bit steep!
Still, it's less annoying than buying a pair of disks from breakers for £70 - only to be told in the MOT that they're wonkt then having to fork out £160 for brand new ones! ...AND I lost the breakers receipt

I wouldn't know where to find the clutch on a car.
I wouldn't know what to do once I had found it.
I can't afford for it to be off the road for a week while various people try to un-knacker whatever I had knackered while foolishly attempting a task that's way beyond my mechanical abilities.
I don't have time to muck about with such things anyway.
Clutch needs doing before next Wednesday as we won't get up to Cadwell with the trailer with it slipping as much as it is at the moment.
Now let me moan in peace. |

most mechanical things are easy to do (if you have the right tools) so i say do it yourself! save yourself loads o' money.. even if you need to buy new tools you're still better off as you now have a new set of tools
I fit a clutch on a 300ZX a few months ago, £50 for the clutch kit.. but a few hours of work. Had to take exhausts off, prop shaft etc.. damn those rwd cars |

Cars are poo!
My little crash is going to cost me between £500-£600 to sort out, plus the damage to the car I hit. |

Hi
£182 is not thaty bad for a clutch. Probably £50 of that is the clutch plate.
It is a job you can do yourself, but does take a while. Hire of an engine hoist would not be that much (or you could borrow mine, but the petrol would cost you more).
However it is one of those jobs where the car is disabled while you are doing it which could be very inconvenient if you cannot finish the job.
All the best

I would do it myself if it were my car, but then again I don't have £180 to give to a garage to fix it. It's not that bad, doing it yourself would be a pain in the arse plus Haynes manuals are a bit poo sometimes especially when you cannot locate the area that is shown in the picture, and the spanner ratings are total bollocks
