Me and a friend are planning a trip around the uk in 6 weeks and Im just wondering if anyone else has ever done such a trip on 125s before?
Im on an XR125L3 which i truly do think it will be fine but my friend is going to be on a hyosung cruise ii. We think will will cover 900-1200 miles in 2 weeks!
Iv loaded the back of my bike with :-
* Air bed pump
* Sleeping bag
* Single air bed
* Tent
* 4 cans of tinned food
* 2 litters of drink
* Camping cooker + 2 tins of gas
in a back pack i had a weeks worth of clothing which all added upto an extra 15KG of weight!
My 93kg + 15KG = 108KG of weight my bike was carrying. I was really worried about the added weight to my bike but it seems to still pull like it didnt even notice the extra weight!
No idea how my mates bike is going to pull as he is a quite a big lad (20 stones)
ill keep this post updated as we work out our plan ____________________ TS50 (sold) NS125F (sold) NSR125R-K (write off after 2 crashes) CG125 (nicked) XR125L-3 (Sold )-: ) DR125SM '11 (sold yay) XL125V '12 (In love with this bike) XT600E '04 (fun on the dirt) |

1200 miles in 2 weeks is roughly 80-90 miles a day, a leisurely amount even on a 125. I imagine you will have days in the trip where you don't ride at all, or ride back to the same place for a second night, but your estimate doesn't sound unreasonable at all.
Me and a friend are taking a 60 mile trip to Matlock Bath from Lincoln later for a night of camping. He is on a Kymco Hipster 125, which seems to be reliable and will cruise at 60mph. I will let you know how long it takes us tomorrow, but I'm guessing it will take around an hour and a half to two hours (30-45mph average speed). If you say it takes two hours to do 60 miles (conservative guess) then you will be able to do 120 miles in four hours and have the rest of the day left to do whatever. If you set off at 11 every morning you would be at your destination at 3 putting the tent up.
The cables do seem to wear quickly on his bike. I would recommend taking out breakdown cover which will see you on your way if one of your bikes is stopped by a minor mishap (ie puncture/snapped throttle cable etc). ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |

2 weeks? I'd take 5 cans of food, 4 may not be enough. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.
