Son just brought a aerox with broken water pump and head gasket gone.
There is water in the engine, you can view it through the carb inlet, once removed with the reeds.
How do you get the water out of the engine? can not find a bleed nut anyway.
once drained, do you then add any oil to this part of the engine?
I know they is oil in transmission and the oil tank for fuel, but is there any oil added to the engine crank area?

I have alwasy used 4 stroke bikes so this is a whole new ball game for me.

im assume its a 2t, aerox's have always been 2t right?

im not sure how youd remove all the water..? if there's no bleed nut at all would there not be any other way of extracting it from the engine? such as using a hoover or one of those turkey basters and sucking it out of the crevises?

im uncertain what an aerox engine looks like, got any pics you can post so i can view further you problem?

as for lubrication im pretty sure when i had a 50 that these parts were lubricated, in what im also undure of. ill have a word with my brother, hes good with this and get back to you.

DONT FORGET PICTURES! Smile

best way to get the water out the combustion chamber is to take the engine out, i think its pretty easy on these scoots, or if you can put it on its side?

some1 once told me to use a straw to get things out my combustion chamber and whatever i cant get out would just evaporate or burn off.

no, you dont need to put any oil in that part of the engine, but you can put a drop of 2t on the crank (bottom of the conrod)

When you have the engine out to change the head gasket, empty the crank of water and put some 2 stroke oil on the bearings.

cheers guys, got 90%+ of water out of engine, hope rest will evapourate or get blow out in steam.
I have e-manual on this, and no mention of oil in crank which seem weird to me, so thanks for info on drops of oil. all is falling into place down, now all I have to do is re-build and get it running again,
easy Shocked

- just drain all the water out
- take the water pipes off that go to the cylinder head.
- Take the coil off the spark plug.
- take the 4 cylinder head stud bolts off.
- take the head off (might be abit tough if it hasnt been off for a long time, just try not to stick a screw driver in there as it can chip/wear down that part of the cylinder making it leak.
- Slide the cylinder off, watching the piston doesnt get damaged
- take the old gasket off the base of the engine and replace.
- put some 2 stroke oil on the piston rings/small end bearing/cylinder (a thin layer round should be fine)
- make sure the piston rings are sitting in the correct place and slide the cylinder head back on (put the piston so its just touching the cylinder, squeeze the rings tight and let the cylinder go down, might take awhile, but it has to be done correct.
- replace all the gaskets on the top (you will know which ones go where)
- pretty much everything els in reverse order

-----------------------------------------
Thats my guide on replacing gaskets, but the same kinda thing.

Also, a few things will be different for you, just make sure the arrow on the piston is pointing towards the exhaust, put a little bit of oil on the small end bearing.

think thats about it, Best of luck Thumbs Up

valid point but fairly unlikly unless its been sitting in crappy water for a long time, after all, they mix with petrol and oil for around 12,000 miles.

Just turn the crank over by hand and check it all moves nice and free.
