I've always had 'giant' dogs 
First was a Newfoundland, then a Leonberger, who is now very elderly and then I slightly down sized to my young Rottweiler.
I pet sat for the little miniature wire haired dachshunds and they were really sweet and opened my eyes to the benefits of small dogs, but I still love the 'giant' breeds. Not sure why but I think it's their general demeanour - they tend to be very passive and surprisingly easy to manage (exclude the Rottie from that statement - they are hard work!).
When I lose my Leo I'm not sure what I'll do as I said I'd not have another, but I strongly suspect that I'll get another proper big dog - love the Leonbergers but will get a grown up, not a puppy

As a Stafford owner, i have no option other than to vote for tank-like.
Mine will just play all day, is incredibly agile and athletic, curious about anything/everything, isn't bothered by my 2 year old riding him like a horse (using the skin on his neck as 'reins'), incredibly devoted to and protective of my wife and kids, will do anything for food or tummy tickles, despite their 'fearsome' demeanour and reputation mine is as soppy as a sausage, and as a mate put it 'Could be hit in the face with a half-brick and he probably wouldn't notice'.

My Grottie does that if I'm out and leave him in the house - never actually catch him mind as he knows he'd be murdered, so moves as soon as he hears the key in the lock

You forgot the "waggy-tail" option in your poll.
I like any dogs, especially if they have waggy tails.
There are some that I like less than others, for example, I am less fond of chewy bitey types of dogs - and much less inclined to buy or look after one, than I am of yer more fluffy wuffy doggy-woggie types, like - say - Border collies/terriers, Akitas, Pekingese or Pugs ... (the breeds I would be most likely to buy first)
But if a Staffie or a Rottie was being all waggy-tail friendly and tongue-drooly/crotch-sniffy, rather than bitey and growley, then yeah, I like them too, and talk all that poochie-woochie doggy-person talk to them as much as to the cuter varieties.

i like tanks mainly staffs bulldogs bullterriers rottweilers etc
hate small dogs that arnt "tanks" cant see the point might aswell be a cat.Dispise jack russels the amount of times they try to attack my dog one day im guna let him lose on one of the little fuckers !
only problem with my rottie is the bastard like's sleeping in my bed !

Agreed.
The only dog that has ever bitten me was a Jack Russel - nasty little sods IMHO. It's only ever small breeds (mostly small terriers)that yap and snap at my dog - he's really passive and playful with larger dogs, but when smaller dogs yap at him he gets all upset and growls and snarls back at them, kind of like 'Yeah, you want a piece of me? I just wanted to play, but now I dare you to try it!'
I also hate boxers and red setters, but this is because i was pursued on my bike by them on a regular basis as a kid. Only an ignorant owner lets his dogs roam the streets and terrorise kids IMHO.
Bulldogs are just disgusting IMHO - they've been so messed around with that they are no longer fit for anything, let alone the purpose they were originally bred for. FFS, they were used to herd livestock and/or bait bulls prior to slaughter. Can you imagine a 'Churchill' trying to do either of those jobs? Oh, no no no.
I hate people that carry their dogs around too, and i hate the sort of small breeds that are carried around or dressed up with bows or jackets.
MrsGixer bought our Stafford a Santa Claus suit at Christmas, i refused to let her put it on my dog - i didn't want him to feel humiliated.
