Is it worth buying items such as this?
They are significantly more expensive than 'normal' air filters, the advantage of it being washable seems good but also after fitting one would the bike require rejetting and such things?

edit: there are also performance air filters that arent made of foam and they say to clean them you need a kit and oil and all sorts so if these foam ones work it looks like a good thing. But is it really worth it over a stock filter?

Depends on the bike and what else it has had done to it. If its a 2stroke then forget it as you will spend the rest of your life trying to get it running right. Wink

If you don't need one I wouldn't waste your money on it. If your old air filter is shagged then I would recommend either getting the original part or a standard K&N replacement. It's a bonus that you can wash it, you get the oil for it in the box and barely makes a difference to the state of tune, just makes it slightly louder.

Just bought standard part, didnt realise K+N came with the oil thought that might have been a hassle.

Without other modifications, as far as my knowledge goes less air resistance will give better throttle response, and a LITTLE bit more power higher in the rev range when air draw is peaking, not much else, it does make a difference though, albeit very small and will be louder.

Coupled with a sports exhaust and more fuel you will see a small performance enhancement, but more fuel will be necessary.
