Well it was an awesome day, and the weather was great, I managed to finally get my knee down, the first thing I thought when I did, was something came off the bike in front and hit my leg, then it clicked. Rolling Eyes .Wow what a feeling, I will let you guess what corner I did it on too.

4 sessions in the morning and I was getting held up by the other bikers who seemed to be out for a Sunday afternoon ride. But it was fun knowing I had not been overtaken all morning.

The afternoon sessions I got bumped up to the inters and felt more at home. I was not the slowest, but certainly not the fastest. But it seemed more flowing and everybody's lines were better and it was great, which made the experience more fun.

All the corners were not as bad as I had imagined the night before, paddock hill was simply cool, loved the down force of the hill when accelerating, no need to tuck in...NO NO Tut Tut , the hill does it for you Wink ... Druids is simply amazing, saw a few crashes up there, but I kept my cool. Clark Curve, is an awesome long sweeping bend, but watch out for the crack in the track, it put me off a few times.

Here are a couple of pics that the Mrs took, I will only pop up a handful out of the 500 she took.. Laughing

I think I will take her more often, she takes a good shot.

looking good, body position, looks good. Don't worry about kneedown just concentrate on corner speed when you get that right the kneedown will then come.

I find when i know the line to take and work out the braking marker everything starts to flow together.

Thanks for the comments, the lines I found I learned in the inters more than the novice group as I was continuously interrupted with traffic and people all over the track, it kinda puts you off. But, was flowing well in the inters and felt good.

Next stop Cadwell Park, should be fun. Very Happy So, corner speed is my next target.

I started off TD's exactly the same, Brands then Cadwell.

You're gonna love Cadwell, but dont expext to know the track by the end of the day. It takes 'a lot' of getting to know.

But you will enjoy it!! Wink Thumbs Up

I hope so, I generally do a lot of studying of the track before hand, all thanks to Youtube, but none the less, it's a great learning package.

good luck with cadwell, ive never been due to distance and its a pretty advanced track aswell.

Novice group really is for people that are as it says "novices" someone who has just bought there bike or still initimidated by there bike.

the best way I found to increase my corner speed, beleive it or not is to brake to late, then im in a situation where i can bin it or fuck it, just lean it attitude. not once has it binned it, YET!

Mates tend to give alot of stick for not getting knee down on track but ignore the criticism, same with body position. alot of people really hamper on about body position but as long as you are comfortable and not putting weight on you wrists you should be fine, as you find more speed you will find your body position will naturally change anyhow..

you'll know if your body position is correct or not when you do get you kneedown as you will get a flat and even grinding on the slider where as bad body position will give uneven wearing, generally on the edge of the slider.

Ahh ok, my knee downs were on the edge, OK I will work on this.

Thanks for the info it all helps, I took all the input from my Snetterton thread and worked on that and this was the output, so we will see what happens on Cadwell. I love learning off more experienced people, so this all helps, thanks. Thumbs Up

Yeah Cadwell is really a thin track and will need tonnes of concentration, so should be fun, and that 'Mountain' looks interesting too. Very Happy

Shocked

That is total b0llox I am afraid young man!! Tut Tut

novice is for people that have never done a trackday before ... er ... novices .... simple as that ... there are a lot of people that think they are gods gift on the road, been riding years too and are only wobbling round come the track! Rolling Eyes

Novice is for TRACK novices, if like bish-bash-bosh you outgrow it fairly quickly, then fair enough, you will/can get boosted to inters. Thumbs Up But for every 1 person that does that, there are 5 d1tchkeads that put themselves in inters or fast on their first trackday and are simply a hazard to everyone else - coz they are track novices and in reality sh1te on track!! Thumbs Down

bish-bash-bosh did exactly the right thing!! Thumbs Up

Anyway, I agree on one point he is 'looking good' Thumbs Up
