How come you didn't factor the cost of travelling down to London in the overall price of getting the bike? Seems a bit of a daft way to go about things. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

+1
OP you knew its location before you 'won' the auction.
12 hours round trip isnt bad, set off early morning and be home for T time. I got a train from chester to reading, bought a bike and rode it home in january freezing my nackers off! well over 400 miles round trip. |
+2.
I've had people do the same on me. I even had one guy make me wait at work all day on a Sunday saying he was on the way from Kent. 7 hours I sat there and he never turned up or gave an explanation. Bidding on something that you don't have the means to pay for/collect is twattish behaviour IMO. Good old eBay doesn't allow you to leave appropriate feedback as seller anymore either to warn other people of a time waster in the midst.
I once bought a DRZ400 from 250 miles away, but made sure I was able to get a lift down there and ride it back. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

Yet you're posting a thread on BCF asking whether or not you should go through with the sale .
I'm not going to say that you have won the auction so must complete the transaction by any means possible. In fact, like many others here there's no way I'd buy a machine without looking at it first hand, especially from a seller with low feedback.
I'm just saying that if you don't have the means to inspect the bike on collection then perhaps you should wait until a machine a little closer to you crops up for sale. If you're going to bid on something and use a courier, then you are taking quite a large and unnecessary risk of being done up like a kipper. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400
