 |
|
I was filling up at the petrol station the other day when someone yelled across the forecourt -
him:"mate, do you always fill it up like that?"
me: "err... yeah"
him: "do you get more in like that then?"
me: "yeah obviously"
I got off, walked to go and pay and just as I get to the door I hear him call me a 'doughnut' to his missus!?
WTF?
Don't know what I did to deserve that but couldn't really care either, he obviously wasn't too much of an intellectual chap.
Anyone else had any strange, random or plain stupid questions thrown at them whilst out and about? |

Walking to my bike in bike kit a few weeks ago, and a drunken student stumbles up
"have you got a bike or a genuine car"
"a bike"
"Oh I know you, you're a J...J-Jewcati aren't you"
"no, go away"
There was also one when sat at lights with Matt last year
some guy wanders up to us and shouts
"SUZUKI? Fooking Shit!" |

here's a question and i'm asking because i've seen a few people do this and thought it was weird.
how many of you sit on your bike while you fill up and how many get off and stand to the side?
I'm a get off and stand kinda guy, never understood the whole stay on it thing as your gonna have to get off to pay anyway. ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

you have failed to tell us how you were filling it up, maybe what you were doing does make you a doughnut, how are we meant to know.....
edit, i hate it when this happens, i post and then i read, re-reading you must have been sitting on the bike and filling up, some people believe you may blow up and the whole petrol station in the process should you drip just 1 drop of petrol on the exhaust etc.
i am also a doughnut as i do this, getting off takes too long. |

I was walking back to my bike after paying for petrol once and a guy had parked up next to my bike and started trying to fill up (inevitably trying to get the pump to reach over about 5 feet. He was smiling and said "hello". " said "alright" in reposnse, but felt like asking him if he would attempt what he was doing had I been driving a car.
Another time at work, there are some old women who work in an adjacent office (the "ooooooo a motorbike" kind) and upon saying good morning to me one day said "hows the bike, still in one piece?" however, it was said without any humour, it was a completely genuine comment (reflecting their mentality about motorcycles). I did feel like saying "hip still working?".

Pulled into the local Shell, stayed on bike as i filled(brim it) Lid off as i enter the shop (hot day) and see an Asian bloke on the till, before i've a chance to say the pump No. he's quizzing me at rapid speed.
1st thing he says is 'So how come you got a small bike'? (ok i'm a strapping 5'11 ..but the 250 ain't that small. 'Its a superdream innit?' ..'Ahh yeah the CBRS..everyone wanted one of those..very light bike' he then went on about XR2i's and Capris Kin'ell after 5mins i had to butt in and make my excuses. He was either extremely bored/lonely or had a raging powder habit.

i think you can go and pay for your serving at a pump while the next person is using it. i'm pretty sure i've done it before.
I think it locks the price in when you put the nozzle back. ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

I stay sat down and put the bike on the side stand, as the cap is on the right hand side of the tank. I find if I put it on the centre stand the last little bit spills down the side of the tank.
Once I had a guy with a knackered Transit pickup full of a big pile of pushbikes (just chucked, not strapped down) who thought it would be a good idea to lean the diesel pump across my bike so he could fill his van up whilst I was paying. He spilt diesel on my tyres, wheels and brakes. I was very close to smacking him. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |
