Guess who's got tickets Very Happy
Going to the qualifyer tomorrow and the race on Sunday. First time I've ever been so I'm pretty excited! Really hope Rossi wins as it'd be nice to see him do it live...
Too bad I'm on the home straight so I won't see much of the "action"

I went last year. Loved it. I was in the grandstand at the end of the pit straight. Thinking of going to Assen this year if funds allow.

Trying to get away from the track after was bonkers though. Took an hour, and that was on a bike!

Didn't know how fucking LOUD the bikes were!
Scouted around for earplugs, and was offered to buy some suzuki rizla ones for 7 euros. That's 35 for our group of five. Ended up getting some for 1 euro the pair Laughing
Was absolutely boiling today too. I've got farmers tan from being in the sun about 45 minutes. Can't imagine what it's like racing in that heat, or sitting on the stand without shade...
Qualifyer:
1. Lorenzo
2. Rossi
3. Stoner

Truly amazing lap, and what a result for my first ever GP! Really wanted Rossi to win this one.
And the 125! What a tit! For those who didn't see it Simoni was first almost the whole race, and on the penultimate lap he started cheering thinking he won! He ended up 4th for that mistake.

Got to admit that was an epic pass on the final corner... just ramming it down the inside of Lorenzo and praying to god the bikes sticks...

That was a superb race between the two Yams. It's a shame Stoner couldn't have stuck with them and made it a 3-way battle for the lead! He actually looked a little faster in the opening laps.

I don't know why, but I really don't like Lorenzo at all. In fact I can't stand him! Cocky little twat who thinks he's it! I remember him saying that he never crashes, then proceeded to crash almost every week after that! Laughing

Also, I wish the other teams would hurry up and get on par with the Yams.

Thumbs Up

Stoner just didnt have it in the straights, looked on form around the bends, i dont think he would have had what it takes to beat rossi or lorenzo though, maybe he does, but i dont think the bike does.

The Yamahas are not that great - look at Toseland and Edwards (four Superbike world titles between them). It's more the case that Rossi and Lorenzo are both exceptional riders. Stoner's having some issues, but has proved he can take it to them and Pedrosa would have half a chance if he stopped lobbing himself into the gravel every three minutes!

Laughing Very true!

I think alot of it is also setup and how good your race engineer is. I dont think Toseland or Edwards get the 'full' factory package do they?

Thumbs Up

As would Elias, who has yet to manage even a simple finish at Catalunya in GP class:
2005 - missed due to injury
2006 - crashed
2007 - mechanical failure
2008 - black flagged
2009 - crashed

Not the best of records, really. Rolling Eyes

I'm not a superstitious person, but did anyone else find it odd that Rossi beat bike 99 to take his 99th GP win?

At last. A race.

More please, I was thinking Motogp would just end up overtaking in the pit stops a couple of races ago.

Be grateful, in 2005 at Donington it took me over two hours to get out of the car park, on the bike, in the rain! Evil or Very Mad

They are "semi" factory - meaning their new parts are probably a couple of rounds behind the Fiat Yamaha team. Still a damn sight more up to date than the satellite Hondas and Ducatis!

I can't remember a time when they were any good if im honest, not that that would cover very far back, i was probably old enough to start following the year that the 900c 4t's came in.

Not sure why, perhapse they just don't put the same time and money into R+D as the others?
