(To a Celeron 500.) I am planning on modding a spare PC i have lying about!

What I am planning to do is take an old Compaq and stick it into my old spare Spectrum +2 that I have lying around.

What you think of this idea (for fun it is), and what would I need to do to make the Spectrum keyboard work as the PC one?

I had a ZX+2 about 12 years ago, I didn't even realise it had such a thing as a 'processor' then though.. Does the Spectrum take the same slot as an ancient Compaq? Shocked

Oh the days of ancient computing... tape drive and all.

Lol, I had a Spectrum 48k about 10 years ago, until I plugged the Joystick in when it was switched on, BIG Mistake! Very Happy . The TV made even more crazy pictures and sounds than when games are loading and it never worked again. I seem to remember a series of games where you were this big egg with arms and legs and went around some kind of fantasy world on quests, used to play that loads, was well fun (for a spectrum). Still have the remains and games from it, may try flogging it on ebay! Thumbs Up

Hi

Would think a +2 is increasing in value.

Very much doubt it would be easily possible to connect the Spectrum keyboard up to a PC motherboard.

The +2 used a Z80 processor. Used by loads of early home computers, and still being churned out for use in stuff like washing machines.

All the best

Keith

I'm pretty sure that was dizzy island, with the egg being named dizzy? And yes. It was fun Smile
