Piaggio X9 250cc to Scotland?

I'm sorry if this is a majorly stupid question but... My dad has just bought a 2001 piaggio X9 250 scooter and I'm wondering would it be possible to take on a trip from Devon to Scotland and back? Its like 19bhp so not a lot of power there, basically i reckon its possible but is it just going to be agony? Scooter/Motorbike jokes aside, I wanna know! Thanks everyone!

Yeah, it's possible alright. There's a well respected forum member who travels all over the place on a 125cc Piaggio X9. They're so easy to travel on he fell asleep one time, funny story. Anyway, send a PM to X9Travels he'll tell you more.

Yes, it'll definitely take you to Scotland. Don't expect to get there in style, or in a seating position that you'd normally associate with being 'comfortable' on a bike: I'm told that weather protection and storage capacity is the sales point on these.

Personally i think the most painful part of the journey would be being seen riding bitch on a ped.

As said the X9 is much liked more then the X9 500 due to the MPG and bult-proofness of the engine.

Its got a Top speed of about 95 mph, and its alot more nippy in traffic than the big X9 500.

On my Piaggio X9 125 i have been every where lakes, scotland, london. All easy Trips if your conuferble.

Buy a Air - harwk Gel seat to go on ur seat makes 10x better riding over long distance.

Well when i pass my test (Soon) iam al ready for it my plan is to get a Piaggio X9 250 Evo ( the evo is better then Sl ) And plan on Touring the UK.

Oh by the way the 250 needs a oil change every 2000 miles the 250 Evo dosnt!

I plan on owning 3 bikes yes thats right.

Suzkie GS500 as a TOY to play with on them sundays at squires cafe.

The Piaggio X9 125 Evo For work and local Trips ect etc

And a Piaggio X9 250 Evo for the Long Trips to France ect etc

I take it your doing a manual test then??

I've got a GS400 (sleeved down 500) at the moment. Its not bad but the suspension is pretty piss poor.

Yes i notice while riding the Gs 500 that suspenion isnt very good, i think if i get one ill pop spacers in them to get a stronger suspension.

No track at squires, and the UKs biggist Biker Cafe even bigger than the Ace cafe, real nice place, i went on wednesdays and was at least 1000 bikes ther.

Its the ride up the 60mph road that lead there thats fun and feels like a track.

Wouldnt 33bhp have made it more worthwhile...36 is a waste of time isnt it, why not leave it full power ?
