It's probably a dumb question, but I've only just moved up to 4 strokes.

When checking the engine oil on a 600 hornet, do I observe the reading whilst the bike is on the side stand, or do I stand it fully upright and then check it?

Cheers,

Lol; My Gixer 600 doesn't have a main stand so I have to hold/baance the bike upright while trying to kneel down and look at the gauage; I'm pretty sure you do it when it's perfectly upright - run it for 3 mins, let it cool for 3 mins and check. I'm not the best person for advice so I'd wait for sombody else to reply/confrim before taking it as gospel :-p.

Upright. Get some paper towel, get on the bike THEN open the cap and dip it. Thumbs Up

Cool, I shat myself because I was doing it on the side stand and getting diddly squat, an I'd been hooning it about half the day yesterday.

Cheers,
