Hi,

I've fitted an Acewell aftermarket speedo to my Honda 929 Fireblade. However, the indicator display is now constantly flashing (slighty dimmer than when indicator is switched on). Is there a way of stopping this 'pulse' when the indicator switch is in the 'off' position?

I'm getting desperate - MOT is due soon and this will be a failure. Mad

Hope this makes sense,

Thanks! Thumbs Up

Where is the wire for the Acewell indicator light spliced in, into the wire that would power the indicator lights on the stock clocks, or into the actual indicator wiring?

Into the indicator wiring - stock clocks didn't come with the bike..

Hmm, if it's significantly dimmer you may be able to stick a couple of resistors between the live indicator wires and the acewell to soak up the noise.

I'd say the constant flashing is quite bright, only slightly brighter when the indicator switch is on. Do you think resistors will still do the trick?

Faulty switch? Might not be breaking the circuit completely?

Dunno, just throwing ideas out there...

You'd probably have to spend a while finding the right resistance that the clock lights stop flashing when it's switched off, but do visibly flash when it's meant to.

I'd look up the mot rules, you may get away without an indicator light, in which case disconnect it and tape over the LED.

Which acewell is it, and are the pulses on the clock when the indicators are off flash at the same frequency as the indicators themselves when theyre on.

(that was a really really shittily worded sentance btw Very Happy )

Makes perfect sense! Laughing

Sadly indicators (and high beam) are MOT requirements...

It's the Acewell ACE-39 series. Yup, the flash frequency is the same speed when switched off i.e. it's a constant when off or on, just a bit brighter when on.

Cheers for the ideas Noxious...the switch was working jst fine prior to the change of speedo.

and when the indicators are on the clock light flashes at the same time/rate? (Just trying to work out if the rogue pulses are caused by the bikes relay or an internal relay in the acewell)

got access to a multimeter? check the voltage from where the acewell wire picks up and an earth point whith the indicator both on and off
