BBC, you fail on all accounts on your MotoGP coverage (or rather lack of it!)...

Laguna Seca..... BBC, no race build up, crap commentry, didn't even show the trophy presentation let alone the rider interviews! BIG FAIL! Thumbs Down

Eurosport - Half an hour pre race build up, exciting commentry (bit over the top but they get you interested) and all post race presentations and interviews. Thumbs Up

What the hell were Dorna thinking taking away live coverage of MotoGP from them, and giving it to the idiots at the BBC!! Twats! Middle Finger

Soon as I realised it was live on Eurosport I was there and didnt give a second thought to BBC, Cox and Parish cant suck my sweaty balls, if I hear him say 'Nightmare in a bubble car' one more time I'll invent a time machine, go back to when he was a baby and cut out his tongue! Cool

I love the geeky commentary on Eurosport, probably not great for people who know nothing about bikes but for anyone who does it's perfect.

As Eurosport had the race live tonight I'm wondering whether certain decisions are now being reversed for all the reasons you mention. Here's hoping they can keep it up for the rest of the season.

It was pathetic! I think they only went with BBC to try and get more people watching it, get more people interested.

But they are doing the exact opposite! They won't get any interest by jumping straight to the race with no build up. If they want to get people interested then they need to do something along the lines of thier F1 coverage. Show the riders faces so the public get to know who they are etc...

I too love the Eurosport geekyness, especually when Neil Spalding is in there waffling away about how the bikes work etc... that makes it much more interesting.

Eurosport is much better.

The beeb actually had 15 minutes of build up, just that is was on the red button. Rolling Eyes

(The red button coverage then cut out whilst they joined on with BBC2)

I don't like one of the commentators on Eurosport (it might be Eurosport 2), he doesn't have the enthusiastic voice, sounds like he should be more at home in a Bingo Hall.

But yes, I too was disappointed by the BBC2 coverage - I recorded it and watched it last night. Sad

Though wasn't it exciting from lap 8 - oh, loved it!!!

Dorna's reasoning is that by giving it to BBC a larger portion of the population has access to viewing it (because it's not on a pay channel). Unfortunately, it seems quality doesn't come into it...
