At a guess I would say bikers in general are more rebellious than the general population.

What would you rate yourself as?

e.g. did you get in trouble at school, do you often get in fights, do you do stuff you're not supposed to etc.

I was very quiet at school & college. It is only the past 3 years that I have gained confidence & will happily voice my opinions Embarassed

I would say that now I am a bit of a rebel, but before I hit the big 40 I was a goody two shoes.

I'm like kitty kat, a born again rebel.

I was a swot at school, a well behaved wife, daughter and mother for many years, then I grew up and realised I didn't have to be Mr. Green

Now I'm the stroppy cow I should always have been Cool Thumbs Up

I was very quiet in school, I got picked on quite a lot. Then one day I said 'fuck it', walked out of the house and went to live with my Dad, bought a bike and never looked back. I wouldn't say I'm a rebel now, but I have a lot more confidence in myself and I won't let people get in the way of what I want.

To be honest I don't know if having a bike actually has anything to do with this, but I was reading in a magazine once that some psychologists found that people who were quiet/got picked on in school often become bikers when they are older.

Erm, I wouldn't say I was exactly bad, just a bit of a minx perhaps.

I would definitely push the boundaries. I got a way with a lot, because I was a bit of a loner, and fairly quiet (well in school anyway). I never raised too much attention. Wink

Most bikers just seem to like to think that they are rebels as they ride their ego- boosting plastic fantastics/ chrome barges.

I'm not a rebel. I'm just me. Being a rebel involves effort. It's entirely possible to not be completely geeky and to not let people push you about without being a rebel. As far as I can tell being a rebel mostly involves pushing other people about/ generally getting on people's tits and just looking a bit of a cunt, so I'll stick with being a bit of a pussy, ta very much.

You're joking right? Have you not read the threads were someone dared ride their bike in a T-shirt and got jumped on by half the forum. The amount of bikers I've met/read threads by that won't go out unless they have full leathers on is hardly rebellious. Karma

I don't make it obvious I'm a biker unless it's brought up in conversation, or it's part of a point in conversation or I'm in my HM plant/Honda race rep fleece. Or I'm in/with the bike/gear...

As such, I semi have the rebel tag, people have a joke with me but I'm taken seriously when it comes to the crunch and my known antics from being on the bike have me stood out from the crowd although that's not so say people take the piss; I would gladly point out to them whatever needed pointing out. Politely. Wink

I was a twat in school and got excluded 3 times in 2 years. I almost got expelled in my last week as I was leaving. I'm sure I still have the record there actually(6 years later), now my siblings have that rep to live out from and be taken as the goody-two shoes they are. I've never really taken shit from anyone and always put people in their place to the best of my ability although being a person of a fair amount of sarcasm can have it's bad opinions formed with certain peers. Embarassed I'm not too bothered what they think apart from I don't want to leave people with the impression that I'm not a sound guy as long as they don't try fucking me over.

Interesting, that. I've often thought that about some of the absolute arseholes that have sportsbikes.

MUST BE FASTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE

The only way they can feed their battered ego/confidence.

You know the sort, right? 08 ZGXZZRRSXR 1000 RR, 1 piece, £400 helmet... takes it off to reveal a 43 year old weasel with a massive nose and whining voice... and do they whine? Yeh, they whine. They whine so much, some times they forget to mention that the best bike they ever had was a KTM, ***YAWN*** and how they sold it for a profit, they sell everything for a profit etc etc etc

Im half and half... i was a teachers pet in school, really bright kid, helped out after lessons... spent half my 6th form time as an informal teaching assistant in the music block (im rather gifted with music).

in reverse though, i wasnt afraid of getting stuck into anyone who made fun or took the piss... or used the word "gay" as an insult towards me... though because of my helpful and studious nature the teachers usually turned a blind eye to my misgivings... very handy when stood outside the year head's office for fighting... means i usually get called in first to give my side. I was usually returned straight to lessons aswell...

Cant say i ever lost a fight though... Thumbs Up

Your having a laugh. Asking if someone is badass by replying to a forum using a computer? Best you can get is about 60% geek. A rebel would still be running windows 3.1.
