speedo stopped working

on my way to work my speedo stopped working, thought it may have been my kmph/mph converter that may had broke.

however iv'e removed it so i can at least get a kmpmh reading however that doesnt work now.

any idea's what it may be?

where can one get a speedo drive? checked ebay and david silvers my two usual spots but they dont have it listed.

If it's the sort where the cable rotates, it's worth checking that cable is still in one bit. they break eventually.

theres no cable on the wheel, it just leads intowards the inside of the bike

DSS should list it, although it may not be called that on their site. Give them a ring?

Some bikes have the cable coming from the gearbox final drive.

Pull the inner cable out. If there is no suqare end, then its bust. You just need to follow the cable down to see where its driving from.

i suspect it is the cable that is broken. i removed the speedo drive and nylon nut, the nut rotates and the small block on the other side of the drive rotates as well, however the end of the cable does not rotate.

ordered a new drive and speedo just incase, honda dealership were wanting £93 and wait till end of august for the drive so bought a used one from a vfr which is the same for a tenner and ordered a few bits and bobs from david silvers.

hopefully they'll arrive in a few days.
