I am just testing the water here, but I'm out here in Mongolia and will leave in a few days to tackle the Amur highway once my China visa is sorted out properly (Strictly speaking I don't need one but to get one is less hassle than being turned back) , then bike goes on a ship to Korea then onto a ship to Felixstowe.

I cannot abandon/sell the bike in Mongolia / Russia / Korea well I can but the paperwork is endless such that it can take 8-20 days to sell it.

So would anybody be up for this? , in that I ship to felixstowe somebody else pays for the 180 customs release fee and 50 storage fee and once they have the bike in their possession I fill out the V5 to the person who collects it...posting the new owner bit from Asia to the DVLA.

In that a few people asked how are you getting back , I've a feeling I may not come back for a while and the hassle of flying back to the UK to tie up all my loose ends seems immense.

I would be more than happy to do this. Is there any major work needed on the bike? And will it be able to ride away?

Depends on the Amur highway reputed to be the 2nd most dangerous road in the world. In that this is a tough cookie to crack as its 1790km of mud and gravel road.

Time on target for Korea is 1st August 2009 , as I have decided not to stick around Russia (expensive) or Mongolia (boring as I've done everything already) , and bike shipping will take approx 7 weeks.

Will it have MOT left on it? Would be interested, however if there was no test I would be stuck for a way to get it back (no car licence).

It would be nice for it to go to someone who actually needs it rather than someone who wants to sell it or who already has/can afford a bike.

You go to the Felixstowe cargo terminal with a reference number and shipment ID number, they find you the crate , they open it to inspect in your presence, you pay them the customs fee and storage fee , they let you take the bike away.

its supposed to take 7-8 weeks from Busan to Felixstowe.

Ok, well, as much as I'd love it, and would love it to do some green laning on, as I already have a bike I'll declare myself out so it goes to someone who needs it more than I do.

Very kind offer though, Itchy, nice one. Thumbs Up

My godfather lives in Ipswich, if for any reason none of the above can make it, I'd gladly take it off your hands.

Maybe we could do a club together then sell it on ebay for charity?

What kind of condition is the bike in, and whats the chances of actually being able to ride it away from the docks? I mean it must have taken a beating during the trip?
