Hi,
I changed the tyre on my bike friday afterrnoon. Since then, the rear brake has been really ineffective and seems to be binding. (The rear drum is HOT to the touch after riding) So i loosened the adjusting nut by 1 1/2 turns, but this has made no difference. ( Rod operated drum brake)
Is there something basic i have overlooked?
Many thanks

put it on the centre stand if you have one and adjust it off untill the wheel spins freely, make sure you still have brakes,

Cheers, Ken

When was the last time you greased up the splined activating spindle thingy? i.e. the bit that goes through the shoe holder hub needs reasonably frequent lubrication. When it runs dry, it has a tendency to make the rear brake stay on. If you press the rear brake peddle, then release to let everything spring back to the 'off' position, can you push the rear leaver arm on the hub back further by hand? if you can, then this is a sure sign that it needs a lube!! Thumbs Up
