Kids will accept that you are living apart from their mum, just make sure you are always there for them. The time that kids seem to be affected is when dad walks out and then arranges to see them and then doesn't turn up.
Kids are very adaptable, I have lived through parents divorcing and so have my 3 kids, but my kids have a dad who let them down a lot. I was lucky, I have a dad who although never spent money on me, he was always there with his time and love for me.

Sorry but the way she has reacted when she found out you "MAY" have met someone else....
Says that all she is interested in is HERSELF and the life she has. Where she is free to go off and do what she wants while you look after the kids.
Sounds to me like she is selfish, self centered and does not really care about the kids....
All she wants is a comfortable life and the ability to please herself....

Perhaps you sould punch her in the tits and then kick her up the gary on the way out of the door.... Laughing

Seriously though, hope it all works out for you.

Thumbs Up

Again, I'm not sure why I'm writing this here, but still. I figure it's a pretty good outlet.

I've just done something that perhaps I shouldn't. I've just been looking at jobs/houses.

Because of everything that's happened here, I had to go to work not long ago & talk to them. They agreed, thankfully, to indefinite time off, on full pay - amazing employer, it's not the first time they've done that for me!!

However, this time, it came with a condition. Well, two actually, one imposed by me, and the other by my boss. The condition imposed by me, was a simple one, that I see a counsellor through work. I figure I'll need it, and they already have everything in place to get things going, so why not make use of it?

The condition imposed by my employer, was regarding a recent promotion that I'd been given. Basically, not long ago, they created a whole department for me, with people working under me. Those people still need leadership etc, and the work still needs doing whilst I'm sorting my life out. That's understandable. So I've been given time to sort my life out, on the understanding that when I go back, I go back to my old job - pre-promotion.

That comes with a pretty substantial pay cut, but I survived on my old pay, so I'll survive again.

Sitting here, half in a daze, I figured I'd have a mooch on the job centre website. No idea why. I was actually looking at things in my area - typically, sod all for the work I do. But that's not unusual, IT work is sparse in N Wales.

Then my search moved on to other places. Before I say more about that, I feel it's something I need to talk to L about privately first.

So now I'm sat here, fighting tears, whilst watching one of the kids play with toys near me. He has no clue what's going through my mind, and for the life of me I can't bring myself to say anything. Sad

Its hard being a parent.
Its even harder being a parent going though a tough time.
Its harder still being a parent that really cares going though a tough time.

I know.

Guilt is really heavy to wear. Disguard it, you can't change the past, but you can ensure the future is better.

Chin up, the kids are lucky to have a Dad that cares so much, don't beat yourself up, it will get you knowhere Brick Wall

He wrote this all up before you came on, seems fairly genuine and has taken a demotion to sort things out. If that is at least true, then I would seriously doubt his ex/wife.

Women are all crazy. I'm sure you can vouch for this Wink

Coming on her saying he has made it all up, on the word of a woman he has said desperate not to lose him now, over some irregularities... Like I said before, it's not just because I own a Y chromosome that I'm inclined to side with the OP.

Hmmm, I would be EXTREMELY wary of what the ex says. Just remember how manipulative and scheming the fairer sex can be... she may be playing you.

Especially as she now knows who you are...you know the old saying - keep your friend close and your enemies closer!!! Well that is how a LOT of women feel (especially those who like to play games).

Be wary...don't get sucked into the 'he said she said bullshit.' Idea

I'm calling 'bullshit'.

I can't say I know anything about it, or anything but the 'attitude' of your previous posts to this are wrong.... fake account or bullshit story/scene; OP seemed pretty damned genuine IMO. Karma

hmmm, im guna side with the OP, he seems a genuine fella from his posts.

L you have to realise with children involved its never simple, me and my brothers were in a simular situation while i grew up (i was about 12 when it all started and it never finished until i was around 16, my bros being 2 and 4 years younger than me)

my old man would come back to us, my mum would want to get back together, i knew he was only there to be with us however, he would sort of be with my mum sort of not. Then he would leave again to go back with the woman he actually had feelings for.

Its possible he agreed to be with his ex mrs for the sake of his children and to keep things as painless for them as possible? but in his head knowing he didnt want to be with her and so considered her as his ex when he was with the "friend"

meh it seems really complicated and i hope the OP sorts it out in a way that leaves him and his children with as little hurt as possible. The route my dad took was long and painful because he couldnt bare to be away from us

anyway, OP, kids, L, good luck Thumbs Up

Meh, if you live with a woman you used to screw, you're bound to screw her in the future.

One of lifes immutable truths.

HEY GUYS
none of you prople know me, but having been taken for a ride (big style) by my so-called partner, the Father of one of my beautiful children, I felt it necesary to register and post something.

I very recently Tue night) Discovered that the guy who I've lived with for 8 years, and trusted with mine and my kids lives, has been, at least recently, slating me on various bike sites, of which I have no access to.

During the past week, our lives have been ripped apart by a guy who told us every day, that he "loved us with all his heart."

As you can poss imagine, it's been the biggest shock/wake-up call of my life, my children cannot understand...
I would never have beleived any of this if I had not seen it withmy own eyes.
-The only explanation I've (We've) been given, btw, is that he "is a liar, always has been, always will be"...

I am now working ontrying to put our lives back together, but Dave (technophobe) has stopped all payments for electric, tv, phone, internet and mortgage, even though, now living with his Mother, he has no living costs- thus making it as difficult for us as he possibly can.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS GUY.
When I met him, he made out as if all his ex's were, pretty much, psychos- that he had been a complete hero, and a victim.
I FELT SORRY FOR HIM

He seems to hunt out young, vulnerable women, worm his way into their lives, and generally control them. Some sick fantasy maybe?
I ended up, very stupidly, giving him my life savings (£3,000) so that he could pay off all his debts, through drinking, and start a new life with us.

I have no idea how to stop this 'person' doing this again to someone else- he has a new playing field now (Yorkshire), and who knows how many web sites/ID's...

I would like to thank L with ALL MY HEART <3 for showing me the truth. I have no idea what would have happened if I had not discovered what he was doing.

I'm not quite sure what will happen from now on- the kids don't understand why their Daddy's done something so terrible? I can't begin to try to explain to them, I still can't figure it out myself.

I will not be able to trust anyone for a VERY long time. All I can do now, if he'll let me, is to concentrate on my 3 beautiful kids, with the support of my friends and family.

Wish me luck!!!
