Chain lube & grease remover recommendations?

I'm in need of purchasing some chain lube/oil for my CBR 600 as well as a nice cleaning product that will remove some chain spray-off from the undertray.

Some of the grease/much/chain cack has found itself on my side fairing near the pillion seat & is a bugger to remove as it sticks like sh*t to the proverbial blanket.

Some good recommendations please?

Auto-glym cleaning kit any good?

Scottoil for the chain perhaps?

A friend didn't recommend WD40 on an o-ring chain as he said it might make the rings go brittle,also he mentioned that WD40 isn't the best thing to use on plastic bodywork as it can fade it over time?

Thoughts please. Confused

WD40 degreaser - I use Yoshi-moto 'kin good chain lube. Thumbs Up

i use a scott oiler for the chain lubing

and the same yoshi motot stuff as mcjam...altho my "muc-off" kit is also very good.

I used parafin (you can also use petrol) and a brush to get rid of the grease on there.

To lube it I use "Silkoline Chain Gel".

To clean chain use paraffin
Castrol chain wax for lube (make sure chain is clean first tho, as it can turn to a grinding paste if not)
To clean chainlube off plastics use mr sheen, saves polishing after, works as well as wd40 and cheaper.

Never use gunk on chains, will remove the oil from inside the chains o rings, (assuming its an o ring chain of course)

I find that auto glyms oil degreaser along with fuchs muck-off works well as a combination as long as you leave it for a good 2 mins and wash off with hot soapy water.

If you want to go to the extreme then go for something like gunk it should cut through anything but don't take it near alloys as i think it has bad effects on it.

I use Muco bike de-greeser, and castrol chain wax.
I have muco doing its work at the mo, so ill have a nicely lubed chain for tomorrow!
