 |

I've been feeling really really tired and run down lately, I think it's because over past week or so i have pretty much stopped drinking fizzy drinks, eat less choc and not drinking as much coffee as usual.
To someone so addicted to caffiene etc then drinking less/cutting back would prob be the cause of my tiredness?
Question is how long approx before I start to feel normal again without reverting back to excessive caffiene levels?
Not entirelly sure caffiene is the problem but it does make sense I guess, by 430 when leaving work I struggle to drive home cos I'm so tired! Yet still not getting a decent nights sleep, so annoying! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Hi
I pretty much gave up anything with caffiene in about 10 years ago after a hot weekend where I drank too much Coke and landed up with my guts all tied up so avoided it for a few days. Found that the lack of caffiene gave me stinking headaches (still get a stinking headache a couple of hours later if I drink any normal tea or coffee), but that explained what caused the nasty headaches I occasionally get.
Since then I avoid it. Probably don't so much get tired as can't avoid it by doping myself up with coffee. Put it this way, when I gave up on a Friday evening I was often driving back 350 miles from Brussels to Stafford straight from work before bed.
Still have a very sweet tooth so not really avoided anything sugery though.
All the best

Basic dependence setup.
Heres some algebraic fun for you;
Baseline + substance = Increase
->
Increase + Substance = Baseline (over time)
->
Baseline - Substance = Decrease
Or put simply, you originally experience some kind of high from a substance, but through chronic use that has become the 'norm'. So you normal state was hinged upon addition of caffiene. The moment you withdraw your substance, you get rebound effects.
Like being happily single for ages, then getting a girlfriend for ages. When she buggers off, you feel lonely.
Anyway, just ride it out.

I had the total opposite last Friday night (Sat morning), drank far too much Red Bull, ate too many sweets and seriously suffered for it over both Saturday and Sunday.
Fitful sleep, racing pulse, hot and cold...the works. Not good.
Cutting back steadily is the approach I would recommend (personally), rather than a total cut out. The 'come down' will be much reduced, and possibly better for you in the long run. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

I have a mild blood sugar "issue" you should see me after a bag of jelly babies, never mind caffine (although caffine gives me major headaches) OH buys me a bag of jelly babies every week, if I eat them all in one go I turn into Tigger not a good idea putting me in an open space macdonalds coffee gets me every time.
apparently its quite amusing for everyone around me
sorry I digress, I would expect you would feel like sh*t if you have gone cold turkey with it, but it shouldnt last longer than a couple of weeks at most |

Feeling a bit better towards end of week! Felt relatively okay yesterday but I did drink about 3/4 literes of water yesterday, think I'm not drinking enough H20 at the minute!
Did have a bottle of lucozade today as its friday haha but other than that I've barely drank any compared to my usual fizzy drink consumption..
still drink a few cups of coffee a day though and don't intend to give that up, it was more the excessive fizzy drinks I had an issue with.
Guess I'll just keep going with it and hope it works out good in the long run! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |
