I'm a bit pissed off. Just tried fitting my tinted visor and I've broke a part of the helmet It's the part that regulates how many clicks the visor is open or shut, it has sheared clean off. My girlfriend bought it for my birthday in April and we no longer have the receipt, we may have a bank statement showing where we bought it from but I don't think that will be enough.
Do you think I should contact the manufacturer (FM) or should I just count my losses and phone my home insurance company and get it replaced under my accidental damage.
Good job I have a biking father-in-law but borrowed lids are ____________________ Too skint to buy a bike |

Mattastic,
What you need is proof of purchase so a bank Statement with the shops details on if should suffice should they not accept your word that you purchased it from them.
Probably worth mentioning that they're not liable for any damage that you've caused to the helmet so you may get short shrift for attempting to heap the blame on them for what is essentially your mistake.
Personally I'd try to contact the manufacturer (again not liable unless they offer some form of guaruntee) should you get no joy from the shop. Try writing something along the lines of a begging letter, pleading and grovelling for some assistance and mentioning that you absoloutely love their product and are distraught at the prospect of not being able to use it ever again.
Good Luck

Go to the shop and ask them to replace the damaged parts (if the rest of the helmet is OK) they normally have a supply of parts for this very reason (well I used to keep them in stock ) but if no joy then contact Lintek Gleave the distributor and they should send new parts out to you as a goodwill gesture! ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

My other half did exactly the same to his Arai at the weekend! Can you get spare parts for FM lids? He's ordered the new side bit for his lid so should be able to fix it himself.
Check www.thevisorshop.com - see if they can help you... |

I've managed to get a new "side piece" to attach for a paltry £13.99. A lot cheaper than a new lid! ____________________ Too skint to buy a bike |
