 |
|
Without getting too far ahead of myself, I have been looking at the pros and cons for my first bike- I do quite like the fazer 600cc, but I have read loads of reviews particulalry mentioning how poor the lights are on it. Many people have done a walkthrough on how to modify this- but would it be mot legal? Or would you have to change it back for the mot?
I do apologise if this has been asked before, it probably has lol, but I couldnt find any definitive answers online |

If you're worried about the MOT question, just put an inline fuse in the wire then you can pull it before the MOT.
The mod is definitely worth it IMO. But I would definitely make sure you do the full bit as per the foc-u instructions:

Another thing worth try is to fit the Philips Vision Plus bulbs which give a bit more light and less of a yellow colour. |

Did this mod on my Fazer and the brighter bulbs too. Made it better but was still poor. Best solution IMO is to add some spots ____________________ Before: Suzuki GT 185. Honda Superdream 250. Yamaha RD350LC. Suziki RG250. Yamaha FZS600. Honda CBR600F3

Thank you for your replies I've read some really extreme reviews about the light problem lol to the extent that someone has said they are basically riding by the street lights rather because they are so poor- is it really that bad? lol just concerned me if that is the case as I live in the countryside so being visible and being able to see is important lol but it would be a shame to not consider the bike just for this reason |

It seems a shame that the lights are such a big downfall to the bike- especially as it seems that it would need fiddling with every year before the mot.
Maybe best to look at other bikes too then, or just put up with crappy lights when the time comes |

The 2002-2004 does look smart, I think a nice blue one would suit me very well lol I have had a look round and there are a few 2002 models in my price range around 2k which is good news for me! The insurance isnt going to be a problem whichever bike I get - £90 a year fully comp due to a fleet insurance policy.
At least I wont have to faff around with the lights which is a bonus.
Thanks for everyones help |

Slightly shameless plug but meh. If you can stretch your price range to 2.5 to 3Kish I'd thorougly recommend an FZ6N. My dad has one in Dubai and it's absolute blast to ride, I've ridden quite a few different bikes over the years including out and out sports bikes and this is just brilliant. It's FI so it's incredibly responsive and whilst still going like shit off a shovel is also incredibly comfortable. A flyscreen is a very practical mod as well. Here's my dad's at Christmas last year.
