How important are new plates to you? If you'd just put a deposit down on a brand new bike would you pick it up next week (as soon as it's ready) or wait until Sept 1st for a 59 plate?
(Edit 14-08-09)
Just got her home......sod the 59 plate
Very very very wet but a happy boy

I was the same Dave, put a deposit down 2 weeks ago but thought stuff it, picked it up a week ago instead of waiting for a new plate. Tis a no brainer for me, I was only thikning about it's £££ value, not the pose value. |

To me its not important.
1- its just snob factor, i dont want to be in a club with the supercharged land rovers
2- IMO I think its a waste of money buying a brand new bike when you can buy the same bike 2 years later with the after market exhausts put on it buy the old owner. |

I'm paying 10k for the bike (new)with a £1250 exhaust system and a £1000 voucher for the shop I bought it from. A two year old one advertised as "sold with £1500 worth of extras", 4900miles is on ebay for £8500. The best i've seen one is £8000.
I'd rather take the new one |

i'd wait for the new plate. it's only 3 weeks anyway, and by the time you could pick it up it'll be less than that. part of it will be the value when you come to sell it. btu also, for me atleast, if i buy something new i want it to be NEW ... so i'd never buy a car/bike on anything other than the latest plate. and even then i'd want to pick it up on THE day it's released. but that's because i dont want to think 'hey, i have a brand new bike' and the bloke next to me to think 'meh, that's 6 months old' even if i'd just rolled out of the showroom. maybe i'm a poser/snob or whatever...i also have a private plate to go on anything that isnt new! |

I definitely made the right decision. I've got about 2days and 4hours til I pick the new bike up. Talk about "a kid waiting for Christmas" I was never this excited when I was a kid!!!
I guess I better go and clear out and hoover the garage ready for the new arrival.
I didn't mention the word excided did I? |
