Yes I believe so as it is the fact that you've held insurance for a year not what bike it is on that is key.So as long as you haven't claimed and when you changed bike it was still on the same policy then 1 years NCB should be yours! ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

As long as you only changed the details on your policy ie. the bike and did not cancel your policy you have 1 years no claim. |

I'm kind of in the same situation, I changed my bike near the end of policy but have been reassured I have one years no claims bonus.
Thing is, do you get some sort of paperwork to confirm it?
I haven't got anything that says "Look at me, I have 1 years no claims! " So how do you prove it if required etc?? ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I had no choice but to renew with the same company so I guess that I don't need to worry about the NCB just now then

I'd recommend Carole Nash as they were £60 cheaper than the lowest figure I was being quoted.
You should definately have 1 years no claims, but if you are changing insurers it can be tricky to get something in writing stating this. I had this problem a few years ago with my car.
Also, say if you didn't have a bike (and therefore an insurance policy) for a maximum of 2 years but had previously earned a number of no claims, when you set up a new policy they should take your past no claims bonus into account as long as you can prove that you had them.
Well that's the case with cars, I'm assuming it's the same with bikes |

Hi
You should have no claims, and normally they will put your no claims entitlement on your renewal notice. If not then chase them. I had problems years ago with Endsliegh ( ) when I had a bike nicked but did not claim and they tried to take away my no claims. After much chasing they finally supplied the proof of no claims about 3 months late by which time it was no use to me really.
How long no claims lasts for seems to be fairly variable.
All the best
