Maybe more?

Sell it on ebay as an unwanted gift. Say the box is sealed, but can't take it back due to it being a gift. etc.

You would get £600 at least.

How much/long is your contract?

Could you not get a cheaper contract if you want to save money?

I think you missed what was trying to be said.

The phone company is making a profit from the contract you are looking at even though they are handing out a free plasma screen.

Therefore, if you took the cost of the screen out of the contract you would have a cheaper contract with the same 'features'.
Save the difference and at the end of the contract you will have the same amount (if not more) saved than you would get selling the screen.

In other words, do the maths. Is it really the best way to get the money for a car?

I have gotta agree with the guy above.

I have a top of the range phone (one of the best) its a Samsung i8910 HD.
Check it out if you like. Its easily a £500+ phone but I'm only paying £24 a month on a 18 month contract.

Thats with 600 anytime mins and unlimited texts.

If you do the maths, how much could you be saving?

All I'm saying is a 36 month contract is unreal! I would want a TV for the money you must be paying! Please tell me you have a top of the range phone too.

He's paying £34 a month, not a 34/36 month contract.

Dont take out the contract and you are half way there.....

Just what do you get for the £34 a month......

Its Ok saying you can sell the TV, but remember the costs of doing so and the hassle involved.

For the reason I said. Read the post, I have a 32" Samsung, I bought it 2 years ago. That too is HD ready yet the resolution on that is 1360x768. The screen the OP is on about has a resolution of 1024x768 yet it is a much bigger screen size. Piss poor resolution on a big screen is pointless.

I hope this is clear for someone that clearly knows there stuff Laughing

chris you know f all about tvs and i cant be assed to elighten you on what i learned as i find it a bit boring now i know whats what.

if you really want to know why your talking crap then post your piss poor comment on the plasma section of avforums and you will learn a bit.

steve

You see the problem here is you've got all agitated and chris is mainly right!

HD Ready means a panel capable of displaying 720p natively.
Full HD (the new sticker to make things simple for buyers) means capable of 1080p natively.

Now, while a 1024x768 can display 720 horizontal lines natively, it cannot display the corresponding 1280 vertical without distortion. So Chris's TV will display a 'truer' picture, only smaller...

Next on to the fact that it's a 42" - this one is much more subjective... Some would argue you'd want a Full HD set for anything above 32" otherwise the picture looks blocky, personally my living room is too small for a 42" TV so i haven't tried to find out.

All in all though the TV posted should be considered entry level at best. I'd likely go for something like this:

https://www.johnlewis.com/230617469/Product.aspx

or at least get it at a more realistic price:

Your talking bollux aswell ...

in short the picture quality depends on many factors, and can not be nowhere near determined by screen res alone.

If it's all bollocks then explain it to people. You can't just dismiss a comment and expect people to believe you, you just end up looking like a stubborn kid who can't admit they're wrong.

Its HD ready why do you think it is wank as a result ???
HD is highly over-rated.

You have to spend considerable amounts to notice any improvements and then, the picture is ruined because it shows every defect in the film etc..

Luke VFR isn't going to be one to agree, granted - seeing as how much he's invested in his setup but I've not rushed out and bought the kit. My TV is HD ready but I've not spent anything to get results from the potential.

really thats bollux annal, hows about people making the initial comments backing them up....,..

What's that smell?. Oh; it's irony. Wink

Please, explain why you think this TV is the dog's gonads and why you have to post here asking for advice if you already know about TV's and how good they are.

I too, am not quite a geek but I know lot's about gadget's and technology, also that your phone maybe one of the latest, but it being 'the best/among the best' is also your opinion, which I dis-agree with. Smile
