Today on the way to work im cruising along in my car (Honda Civic Type R)when some @rse in a shiny BMW 330 ci decides to cut me up almost taking my front bumper off. I sound the horn and he then proceeds to gesticulate at me calling me a w@nker.

He then drops a gear and floors it. Now call me childish, but i thought "nah f*** you BMW boy, you aint getting away that easily", and decide to follow after him.

So he's flooring it, and im flooring it, and low-and-behold im gaining on him - significantly. So much so that i have to ease off the accerator before driving up his exhaust pipe.

BMW boy is by now beginning to panic, staring into his rear view mirror wondering why his 3.0 ltr £30,000 230bhp flashy car is being caught up by my little £15,000 car. You can tell he is panicking because he starts to wave across the road, whilst staring into his mirror, and a big plume of black smoke shoots from his exhaust as he is franticly trying to change gear as fast and as hard as he can.

Next thing whilst staring into the rear view mirror with a look of horror, he swerves over the white line towards the central reservation, and kicks up a big dusty / stoney cloud which proceeds to take a chunk out of my front windscreen. @rse !!!!!!!!!!!!

Suppose you could say that its my fault for chasing after him, but why on earth do these BMW to$$ers think they can bully people out of the way, cut people up and basically rule the road.

The chip on the window was almost worth it to see the look on panic in his rear mirror as i gained on him with a big cheesy grin on my face. Hopefully he will have gained at least a little more respect for the 'Type R' brand.

Heh, I had a funny encounter with a BMW. Was a new shiny one, no idea what model.

Anyway I was behind the BMW and there was a car in front. The car in front turned and the road was narrow so we had to stop.

I then pulled out to the right to overtake once we started moving again, however Mr BMW didn't want me to and tried to accelerate off.

Mr BMW then got owned by a tatty £600 bike. Nothing fantastic, but it made me feel good, and I bet the driver was annoyed. Twisted Evil

Had the same thing with a sporty MG saloon today. Seemed hellbent on proving he could keep up with an R1, he was all over my rear end as I sedately pulled away from the lights.

Now he knows he can't............

I hate BMW drivers as well as those Mercedes effers too!

Think it was about a year ago that Richard and I were knocked off a bike by one whilst coming to a set of red traffic lights. Not only were we left lying on the floor, but the idiot drove off as soon as they lights turned green.

Oh yeh that is the daddy when that happens, my bike may be shite, only have one wing mirror and be worth 1400 quid and runs like a dog atm. However i do love cruising behind people at 40 at about 6k, slowing down, dropping a gear and thumping past on duallies. They try and keep up... and fail.

And from lights..... ooooooooooooooh so much fun, you see the wheels go mad in the corner of your eye and you hear them wheelspin (nova boys etc) and then they are gone, poof somewhere far behind you. Plus to add some style i always do it with a little wheel float. Such fun. Had a car today, woulda killed me had the noise of my bike dropping a gear or two prior to an overtake woken him up to my presence and made him swing back in bless him. I mean its only a 350, but its got a trails engine in it Razz Quite loud, and 0-60 of about 6 seconds. Cages stand no chance on duallies.

bmw drivers think they own the road

the other morning i was riding pillion on my friends zzr600 on the way to work

a bmw in front.. nothing special just a 320i 0-60 in a painfully slow 7 seconds

decided to drive up the arse of the car in front in a 30 zone

he then pulled out into the other side of the road as if to overtake
when he saw us behind.. then just sat there and did nothing even though the road ahead was clear.. this was about ten to seven in the morning

my mate went ballistic at the driver shaking his fist at him..

when we got onto the 60 zone country road we overtook him and i looked down my nose at him and shook my head at the driver

a civic type r,audi tt (maybe the 3.2 one at a push ) and an bmw m3, audi rs6 e.t.c have got some serious top speed

but a gsxr600,1000,r1 e.t.c even a 400 would nail them 0-60

mr bmw man e.t.c lives in a dream world and tries to pull into you when you go past them

I drive a bmw. We're not all bad you know. But I do tend to agree with you all as the majority of 'New BMW' drivers (I would say) do think they own the road.

Praise the Lord! Praying I was beginning to think that it was just me that had trouble with BMW's. It seems somedays that every other car is a BMW and I reckon 1 in 20 of the people who drive them are half decent drivers. The rest.......??

My daily motorcycling is usually 12 miles of filtering! The arrogance of these drivers is breathaking. If they see a bike they purposely block your way! The car attracts a certain type of person and driving ain't one of their strong points!

I think its fair to say that pretty much ANY bike would nail ANY car from 0-60.

My Type R is quick, but my R6 (when i had it Sad ) would obliterate it - until i came to a corner and the Type R would catch up and go past if it was a long enough bend. Saying that, if it was a long enough straight before hand the R6 would be long gone. Twisted Evil

Please Change the word any for most!

Edit to: i think it is fair to say that most SPORTSbikes would nail most cars from 0-60.

However i do understand that you must mean any car within reason! Obviously you were not including the worlds fastest supercars!

Well, yes, thats what i meant - and of course not including some super cars.

Most bikes - most cars

My partner drives a BMW 5 series, but only cos its a diesel dog that trundles to Heathrow & back daily, using rarely any fuel and is comfy for long distance and has lots of space in the back for getting DJ decks & sound system in to do parties...its an awesome workhorse that has saved us oodles in monies (no van required). Previous car was a shit hot VW Polo G40 - lightweight and held the road like nobodies business. But it had to go cos we need the space for the bikes and the money to pay off the debts.

I usually find that its the blokes in the really flash shiney big cars like BMW's, Mazdas and Volvo's who are tw@ts on the roads...specially the ones who fail to realise 'they' should give way to traffic on the Mway when they come on the slip road -rather than the other way round! They drive on and straight out across the lanes cutting up anyone in their way..where are the traffic cops when this shit happens?

Interesting...

It appears that it's the 'working class' that actually have issues with branding a typical BMW driver, just that - a typical BMW driver.

Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss about what brand the car is displaying, it's the driving experience that's the winner. (along with many other variables, such as reliability, quality, efficientcy, dealership service etc)

BMW work hard and invest masses of monies into the developement of their products and it shows. I don't think it's fair that every BMW driver should be branded in a similar fashion as to those who've chosen the car they've chosen just for the brand. How owuld you like to be branded a "manic to society" for those odd one or two knob-less motrcycle riders? It's something narrowminded folks amongst us get stuck into and can't get out of the habit.

The 330ci is a cheap mans M3, was most likely actually an Automatic and with the black smoke shit - a diesel too. Chances are the lane change was also on inpulse, resulting in you being cut-up.

0-60 the Civic Type-R would keep up without any trouble due to the power-to-weight ratio advantage, but above 100mph the torqueless motor in the Civic would struggle. Smile

I woudn't be considered as 'working class' (degree educated, company owner, etc.) yet have a real issue with BMW drivers! It is wrong to generalise, however why is it that 90% of the 'incidents' that occur on my daily journey involve BMW's or Mercedes?

The ethos of brand BMW is superiority, and it is the 'Ultimate Driving Machine'. Therefore I guess the psyche of a BMW driver is that when he is stuck between a van and bus and we bikers zoom past him he gets frustrated. Therefore, to re-affirm his status he deliberately or sub-consciously blocks the lines bikes filter down. I challenge anyone to come round the North Circular Road, in the rush hour, and see for themselves.

Erm, no it was 330 Ci - not a 330 Cd. In other words, 2979 cc petrol engine with 231 bhp. Compared to my 1998 cc with 197 bhp.

Exactly - being a BMW driver, its second nature to him.
