 |
|
Hey all, can you see any reason why my eBay bikes are still bid-less? Do you think they are too dear? Or is the market just no good at the moment? I tried judging the price by what I need and comparing to other bikes, They have about 750 views between them but not a single bid
CBR600f
Kymco Hipster
Better photos? Lower price? More information?
Any ideas?

High start-prices always get less bids.
On the Kymco you're missing a lot of search results by having 125 instead of 125cc, I'd also add learner legal in the title or description.
Emphasise all the good points, condition looks good so play that up. 'Ideal for shorter riders or ladies.....both feet on the floor but also very comfy for taller riders too' etc etc
If there are any bad points list them but play them down. Put them right at the end. 'Good overall condition, small leak in the exhaust and plastics could use some attention, but overall in fairly tidy condition' sounds a lot better than what you've put.
Emphasise the good bit, play-down the negative bits but be honest.
Reason for selling: getting larger bike. Don't make a story of that they want to hear about your bike not your life. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

The bikes are worth approximately half the starting prices.
Thats why you're not going to sell them. £2000 will get you a 2003 R6 if you look around. No one will pay anything like that for a 99 cbr.

The high asking price would put me off looking at the rest to be honest- it is ebay after all
Also not sure whether you should say that you want to sell them to get the fireblade- comes across as though the bikes arent good enough if someone didnt understand the popularity of the fireblade. |

Starting prices are ridiculous.
IMO, an ebay auction is not the place to get a good price for your bike - the format precludes it. It is a place to sell your bike quickly.
If you want £1,800 for it, just stick it on at a low start price with an £1,800 reserve. Start it at 99p, who cares?
Once you have bids, then you can tweak your reserve if you decide you just want to sell it.
The lol thing just puts me off too.
I would describe the maintenance you have completed, and a description of the various areas and their state of repair - after all an ebay ad is binding, if you say the engine has no rattles, if the buyer turns up and it does rattle, he can walk away.
You really are giving no reassurance about the quality of the bike.
Interestingly, the CBR description is worse than the other one, but you want more for it! |

I generally ask for £30 to cover the cost of the advert, after that its cash only. Usually if the person phones up within a couple of hours I tell them not to bother paying the deposit. I use it to filter out the wasters. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |
