Quote:

Channel 4's final series of reality TV show Big Brother will be broadcast next year, the broadcaster has announced.

The station, home of the programme since it began in 2002, will honour its deal to screen series 11 next summer.

Big Brother has suffered from falling ratings in recent years, with the current run the least watched.

The show is not expected to disappear from TV screens, with the prospect of makers Endemol securing a deal with another broadcaster.

I don't even notice it TBH... Oh actually it gets in the way of Everyone Loves Raymond, which I would usually watch while getting up for work.

They have also said they are scrapping it in the past, only for it to return the following year Evil or Very Mad.

Not jumping for joy just yet. We still have to endure another 'season' of this 'entertainment'.

And Endemol won't just disappear, they'll come back with something more 'edgy' and 'now' and bore the fuck out of us for 6+ months every year until we are dead.

Unless, we all just switch off the telly and do something better instead. WDY rules. Thumbs Up

I kicked the BB habit 3 years ago, thank god. Glad that it'll be off C4, their programming is usally watchable, but BB just destroys it for three months of the year.

Nobody gives a fuck about BB anymore, don't hear it talked about at all, whereas in the past it was topic of conversation No.1.

The talk is Russell Brand is to host the last series.

Please suggest a list of 'interesting' Selebraties.

And Thank you Jesus for pulling the plug out of this pish.

My nomination for Celeb BB:

Alan 'Gay and Annoying Un-Funny Cnut' Carr.

I have a nice big space on my table, don't give TV licensing any extortion money, no ads in my face. If I want to watch a particular programme I just go to iplayer or similar.

Go on, give it a try! Thumbs Up

That's what I thought! When I heard the announcement on the radio I thought they were pulling the plug immediately! Can't see why it was news unless that was the case TBH so actually was a bit meh Confused

Not that it concerns me very much as I've never watched it and know so little about it I can't join in with BB conversations anyway. I'm a pretty selective TV viewer and reality stuff really isn't my thing, but wouldn't begrudge someone else their choice! Rolling Eyes

I'm beating mudskipper by 3 weeks!
6 weeks without TV and I miss nothing. My life feels fuller without pumping Hollyoaks, neighbours and The Bill into it every week.
If I want comedy I just download a film.

There is a hierarchy of dumbed-down programming and it goes thusly:

Film & Movie
~12 part US drama series & UK Drama series
~22 part US drama series
Panel shows such as MTW and HIGNFY
Documentaries
Sitcoms
Soaps
Quiz Shows
Chat Shows
Reality TV
...
...
...
...
...
...
Deal or No Deal (they haven't created the missing program links between Reality tv and deal or no deal, it's dumbness is astonishing)

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper.

Is it only on for 3 months? I swear I cannot remember a time when the stupid F'ing show has not been around or mentioned; I'd happily disable whatever power source is behind it's ability to broadcast. When I moved to uni I found out you had to pay to watch TV, so I didn't bother with it. I just download TV shows of the internet now it doesn't cost me anything, I can watch it when I want and there are no adverts which is a winner all round for me Very Happy.

Only other time I watch TV is if I remembered to record something on my parents sky+ thing so I don't have to sit through days of adverts.

Also me and my dad cheered in the car yesterday when we heard on the radio it's over with.

I've not watched telly for over 2 years now.

Don't miss it. If I want to watch a film, I get a DVD. You can get a lot of DVDs in the blockbuster second hand section for the price of a TV licence.

I spend the time I save more productively in activities such as sleeping.

I cannae be doing with all the reality tele either. I don't watch BGT, The Fucking X-Factor or anything like that. Hate Big Brother, have never understood the attraction of watching people argue with each other and then sleeping.

It doesn't affect me unless I visit a certain friend on a Friday night, during the time which it is being aired. Needless to say I have not seen her for a bit... Very Happy

n00b mistake bolded.

Wink Razz

Completely agree though. How old are you? It seems to be the 20-25 year old's that get sucked into it more than most in my circles.

Although Sophie Reade....

I hope she does get something out of it; she's only really been 'famous' for her topless Superbike shot's AFAIK.... I'd love to see more of her. That said, I haven't watched any of BB even though she's in. Laughing
