Fork seals?

Hi after buying a set of fork seals for my rg 125 wolf from ebay & finding they didn't fit I went & paid £53 for genuine suzuki items only to now find they don't fit either! Are fork seals generally too big, do you have to heat them up in order to fit them or something? Any help much appreciated. BTW they're normal RWU forks not USDs (it's been a long time since I changed a set )

You would normally have to drive them into position in the fork legs with a fair degree of force but they should slide over the stanchions fairly easily.

Put PVC tape round the top of the stanchion so you don't damage them as they slide on. A popular way to drive them into place (in the absence of the proper tool) is to use a bit of plastic water pipe that is wider than the stanchion but narrower than the seal. Slide the seal down over the stanchion so it rests against its seat, put the pipe over the top and tap it down with a mallet/block of wood.

53 quid fuck mate genuine yamaha ones for the XJ600 with 7 quid each, i didn't have any trouble getting the seals in, the problem I had was getting the top bushing in, so i drove it into place with a piece of pvc pipe as suggested above then used it to seat the seals.
